  2. Their fighting force is only focused on winning. That’s so silly. Surely they will lose because they aren’t focused on pronouns and diversity.
  3. I tried again. Made it to page 7. “Equity” everywhere. Listen, if you are on purpose making systems to hold people back, then that isn’t fair for all. A system where the best of the best are taken and improved upon and allows for each individuals natural talent to shine and have an impact on the whole system is where fairness and the whole system is better for it. I’m all for having programs in communities where lees opportunities are as an example, but when you take that and morph it into a system that pushes those ahead of more qualified and experienced others to a detriment of the system then what would you call that?
  4. I didn’t. And I just tried. But I stopped after I read the word equity twice. It’s amazing how racism is passed off as furthering our military. Equity isn’t equal. It’s pushing some people with certain identifiers down to forcibly push others with different identifiers up regardless of the effects on the system or actual effectiveness of the system. Which means it’s racist.

  6. I kinda have to agree with them. There shouldn’t be a league based off performance. It should be strictly based off arbitrary percentages of made up identifiers that have nothing to do with football. Start with just one team and let the rest do their thing. You’ll see that one team will be amazing because of its arbitrary diversity.

I’ve got to have equal Jewish and Italian demographics for mechanics for the percentage of New Yorkers assigned to Joint base Langley or whatever it’s being called now. I still blame Fingers Goldfien for his part in this. 2 years of UPT should only contain minorities. Our military is off its rocker.

  10. There is no guarantee. Figure out what you want your end goal to be. Figure out what paths it takes to get there. Choose one that suits you best. Work your butt off to get it. Make people tell you no.

  14. Does continuous vetting mean your security clearance dies the day you leave the service if it’s been > 5 years since the last full up investigation?
  15. Do what it takes to get professionals to advise you. If it takes a loan or a CC to get bogidope, do it. If this is your goal and you really want it don’t let anything stand in your way.

    Don’t use anything but term. Dave Ramsey has a lot to say about that and companies he recommends for it. People who sell other than just term take a large percentage of what you pay in.

    The nice thing about USAA is when you cease being in the military they will match your sgli coverage if you had coverage with them already up to but not exceeding the amount of SGLi allowed or the amount you originally had with USAA. So if you have 200,000 for $20 a month and you leave the mil then USAA will allow you to pile on another 200k for total $4 a month. The original rate you got it at. If you have 500k USAA say for $30 a month. Then when you leave the mil and if you had a 450k you can increase it up to the 450 for original rate. So like 950 for $55 Just an example to show you what they at least used to do. I’m not a fan of present day USAA. But it’s hard to go away from them if you previously locked that in.

  19. I don’t get the limited to 35k argument. Thought congress approved them for 48 when they asked for 60.
  20. I’m still hung up on his attitude is every officer should desire to run the Air Force and be the best pilot while taking less money and doing additional work. That’s a tough one.
  21. Worth the watch. A little over an hour long. Bottom line no 22 bonus yet till an appropriations bill is approved potential large bonus structure change in 23 (and they want people who sign the 22 or earlier to be able to sign on the 23 bonus). No change likely in additional duties, hired additional squadron help, or max amount in money for 22.
  22. Asked how he was going to get money and less additional duties. He responded that we aren’t aviators that are officers. We are officers that are aviators. Then went on to talk about officer ship. And how being an officer is more important than being an aviator but then discussed how we have to be as good of pilots as possible. So I like the guy and feel for him but that was a tough one for him to answer. He spoke about things that don’t equal each other. He wants pilots to be the best officers they can be by having additional duties and leadership responsibilities while being the best absolute aviator and warfighter possible. For most, those things can’t happen at the same time.
  23. He just spent a lot of time talking about how do we lower washout rate from pilot training. And then threw a little caveat about how they want to make sure that the pilots are good. Seemed more important to him to lower the washout rate based on total amount of time spent on that in his answer.
