  1. Another quote from the AIB report that borders on the insane.. I'm no expert, but I think not being able to breathe is pretty distracting in of itself. I need to stop reading the report; every time I look at it I get more and more pissed. They may have just well said "the cause of the crash was the aircraft's sudden deceleration upon impacting the ground." That makes more sense than blaming the MP.
  2. Wow, if this picture is any indication, the run for the Presidency sure has affected Mitt Romney! Think FNC might be looking for a new graphics director? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/14/fox-news-fail-graphics-obama-gop-poll_n_1149388.html
  3. From Peter King's SI.com MMQB column this morning...classic tweet! Tweet of the Week II "I think Dad loves @TimTebow more than me.'' -- @Jesus_M_Christ, a phony admirer
  4. Bullshit.. There's a huge moral and ethical difference between disposing of limbs from a medical standpoint and the dignified disposal of any part of any deceased person. It's amplified 1069% by the fact that we're talking about remains of one of our brothers/sisters in arms. While this is apparently what happened, this still in no way absolves anyone in the mortuary's chain of command from their responsibility to do the right thing - and dumping the remains anywhere was definitely not the right thing. A family member choosing to not be notified is NOT the same as giving the mortuary permission to dump the cremains in a landfill. There is a certain expectation that the remains would have been handled in a dignified way. How big of a grave is needed to bury an urn that's holding cremated body parts? Can't see where that would be labor intensive. Again, I'd think most people would rather have unclaimed remains buried properly, no matter how many are involved. See what LA County did last week? http://www.latimes.c...0,3641045.story THAT's how it's supposed to be done. IMHO, I think the cremains should be buried at a National Cemetery, but I guess the burial at sea option is better than the King George County Landfill.
  5. Surprised no one else posted this gem..!
  6. I guess I wasn't equating "constitutional" rights with criminal or civil law. I can see that a resident of country "A" would be subject to penalties from breaking the law in country "B", but I didn't think that meant that I could assume the rights of a resident of country "B". See what happens when an engineer tries to interpret constitiutional law?
  7. Can someone please explain to me how an illegal alien (er, "undocumented citizen") can claim that his constitutional rights were violated? http://www.bostonher...ticleid=1381727
  8. Fed Civilians can get $230 a month to use towards mass transit in the NCR - I'm pretty sure though military can't get it..CH can you confirm?
  9. It just gets worse by the minute..can you believe this??? http://www.washingto...dM6M_story.html
  10. Armadillo..it's the other white meat.... http://blog.chron.co...ozen-armadillo/
  11. Maybe he needs to take lessons from this guy.
  12. She'll probably win millions... http://www.foxnews.c...test=latestnews A Texas woman is suing Continental Airlines and three other carriers over mental trauma she says was caused by a turbulent flight, the Houston Chronicle reported. Colleen O'Neal alleges that the October 2009 flight from College Station, Texas, to Houston -- a usually short flight that ended up taking more than two hours -- encountered extreme turbulence that caused her to fear for her life. O'Neal experienced post-traumatic stress disorder and now fears flying, which has had a detrimental impact on her career, according to the suit filed Tuesday in Harris County district court. Also named in the suit are regional carrier Pinnacle Airlines, which operated the flight; Pinnacle's owner, Colgan Air; and United Airlines, which recently merged with Continental. Spokespeople for United and Pinnacle declined to comment

  14. Maybe he's just following his dream, like this guy...
  15. OK then - let's all be careful out there this weekend..I expect you all to brief this NOTAM if you're flying..
  16. I'm guessing the OP is referring to the video itself as "goofy" - there are some cheesy CGI graphics in it trying to depict the airstrike... I'd post the "beer toast" GIF for SSgt Gutierrez , but I can't find it on this new format...
  17. Holy crap..that's still on the "playlist"?? I heard that wayyyyyyyy back in '84...ah the memories.
  18. I think he might be saying "It's all Greek to me.."
  19. Apparently the good Chief doesn't know his own uniform wear regs...as seen on the Military Times forum. "Chief, those aren't sunglasses I see hanging around your neck, right?"
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong (this old fart is getting old..), but can't the Chief's message be summed up like this: a. "I didn't want to answer the Chaplain's questions (even though he outranks me), but he made me do it.." b. "I want the Wing to look good for all the dog and pony shows coming downrange." c. "Oh yeah, there's a mission..but I'm more interested in everyone knowing the Creed" ETA: Timing is everything - what Champ Kind said too
