I was a T-37 IP at Reese when they brought the T-1 into the mix, and it was sold as a way to extend the life on the T-38s while providing more realistic training for the heavy drivers. I personally don't think it led to the reduction in wash-outs (see below). FY91 was also the beginning of the "Banked Pilot" program, where we had too many pilots and not enough seats for them to sit in. The AF cut way back on pilot slots (my first full class as an IP at Reese had 6 students for 16 IPs in the flight), which IMHO led to a slightly higher quality of student going through the program because it was more competitive. We definitely had less "problem students" than in the past... Just one ORF's opinion.

One question to ask when looking for a financial advisor... "Are you wealthy?" If they aren't (most aren't, or they wouldn't be working as a financial advisor to begin with), then why would you let them manage your money? There are a few who truly do it to help people, and most are independently wealthy due to their knowledge of finance. I personally know of two retired O-6s who do it pro bono...

Unfortunately, he's not exaggerating Champ. As an ORF sim instructor, we have a bunch of brand new LTs fresh from UPT who are working on their AAD while going through initial qual. Their GK sucks because they're spending more time on AMU/Touro/E-R than in the Dash-1/3-3.

Checks...a classmate of mine had 2600 hrs, was a CFII and commuter pilot, and couldn't find his ass with both hands in the Tweet or -38. Hooked EVERY checkride in UPT at least once (one twice)...
