  1. Maybe Z thought through that chess and decided to pull that lever? His diplomacy answer was thought out enough. I will say my reaction to Trump and Vance talking over Z and not allowing replies, laying into him, ie, getting them both emotional in public, I felt embarrassed that the President of the United States would behave in such a manner. Maybe that was the chess. (edit) Or that the deal laid out is not acceptable to Z and he needed a way to tank it and point to Trump and Vance. What comes from this, I don't know. I do think that Putin was shouting, "раздавить, раздавить, раздавить" (crush) at his TV.
  2. Don't be dense. If you feel that way, leave the military and don't defend the US because apparently, you and your family's freedom isn't worth dying for. Would you not defend your house if someone was trying to invade it?
  3. Maybe this is why you don't take questions from media when doing these negotiations. Vance steps off with fortitude on the question and basically says giving arms didn't work, now we'll try diplomacy. Zelinski probably LnotOL in his head, "diplomacy??!!" and lays it out among multiple administrations. Vance feels called out. Trump too. Fireworks. When Vance opened his yap to score points, I think that was the opening shot.
  4. Cameras on - Greetings and handshakes. Back room - talks All done, cameras on, "We had a productive discussion" and handshakes. Leave the nastiness where it belongs, behind doors.
  5. Copy. You're against a nation fighting off invasion and trying to keep it's people free, ie, their cause. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.
  6. In case you missed it, I don't like Russia and their actions. I don't like anyone in the US Admin making public statements of justifying Russia's invasion. Why Russia did it is for internal discussions when trying to figure out our strategies and decisions. Trump hates Zelinski and the video above kinda shows that because, IMO, he was part of the impeachment. Trump/Vance put on a show. A stupid show. That wasn't negotiation or talks, that was bad cop worse cop. Is that how America is supposed to treat leaders of other nations? <--- Honest question.
  7. Embarrassing display. Jerry Springer would be proud.
  8. Time to make a video game. Greetings, Starfighter. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-dan Armada. Get Ready. Prepare for blastoff.
  9. Trump using Russian talking points. Not surprised.
  10. I think I posted awhile back that when the official file drawer is opened, a few moths will fly out. Seems like Pam just witnessed that. Those files with names are long gone.
  11. Biff, since you like the Sabbath, here's the War Pigs cover you didn't know you needed. Also, the lead guitarist (left) is likely channeling some Hendrix and Eddie VH. Drummer is killer too.
  12. Can we pack on a few more?
  13. This is the kind of question and analysis that is sorely needed wrt media. Glad its on utube, but this kind of content is what would make mainstream media great again. As for landing lights on the CRJ700, no idea if they're LED, or the red/strobe anti-collision were LED. I did read an FAA circular stating red LED lighting needed to be visible to NVGs, but that was regarding obstacle lighting. If anyone is interested, 737NGs are mostly incandescent. We have some 800s with LED systems. The Max is all LED. I like the lumens on the max more that the NGs. Its like a a 6 cell mag light vs a candle. My last question for the investigation, other than what will change to mitigate the collision risk in DCA, is why the ATC controller didn't tell the CRJ to go around when the loss of separation/collision alarm likely went off.
  14. You read quite emotional. It's OK. Trump blustered his lies of making things great again, to include out of control spending. Some Rs balk and he brow beats em in line, except 1. I called out Trump's actions, that's all. And it's too easy because he does it all the time. And yet you seem to take it personally. Instead of attacking me for calling the shot, lay some criticism where it belongs... the dude doing the shots. You could have easily said, "Not a good look to go bashing Ds and out of control spending and yet he looks to do the same." Or something like that.
  15. I say 2 commands, WARCOM and EARTHCOM. OK, maybe 3 with space. When the prez dispatches WARCOM, the enemy knows death and destruction is a coming. EARTHCOM is subdivided by regions for relationships, peace management, logistics, etc. Each command is lead by a single 5 star. Make 5 stars great again.
  16. So Trump is going to veto this spending bill, right?
  17. How can Elon fire a mil GS? Doesn't he have to follow the same process as the civ's regular boss?
  18. Her bio looks like she just worked her way up, checked the boxes along the way, except OG, and maybe a beaner or so. Nav to UPT is a selection board. A10 out of UPT was a challenge in that era (our UPT dates are similar ballpark). Anyone here have her as SQ/Wing CC? Pete can have the staff he wants. He probably promised the job to a buddy. But based on the rumored type of guy Pete is wrt women, maybe prepare the popcorn?
  19. OK. Seems like plenty here think this is the best way to date to get rid of useless sacks. So send Elon an email, be sure to CC Big Ballz, and name names. Mr Baggo Schitt, Remover of Spider Webs from Shrubbery, Wing X, Base Y, State Z. Add toxic leaderships too. Post results.
  20. I would love to see stuff like all FAA ATCers ignore the email. Or simply reply, "My job. Now fuck off." Maybe add a link to LiveATC for their channel.
  21. No. This isn't a my team thing. If I have a say, I'd hire Warren Buffet.
  22. I was about to type some rambling on a what if regarding MEX, but it's too different. A more similar scenario is something like the US has fallen from superpower status and invades Mex because they have a ton of resources that we need to dominate CentAM where CentAM is like the EU and the US thinks it can regain respect and superpower status and we want those resources very badly and can't dominate without them, but we say it's due to immigration and drugs. This is what I think is more of the reason Russia invaded UKR, but saying its about resources and who sells to the EU sounds bad, so they just cry, "but NATO." I've usually though nations today take actions based on Neuchterlein's matrix of survival, vital, major, peripheral issues. Like a Western threat assessment. For Russia, talk of UKR joining NATO was not a true survival issue, but they say they saw it as one. I thinks it is a combo of NATO (I can see them whip themselves into a frenzy over the NATO notion) and the opportunity to take valuable resources and reestablish position in the world. Did they expect the US to play? Maybe not to the level we've done so far and they probably would have taken COA 2 or 3 instead if they thought so. Crimea was their example and Dems have seemed less inclined to do things like start AFG, IRQ, etc. Once committed, Russia is determined to see this through. Time is on their side because nobody is doing anything more to tip the balance. For UKR, this is a survival threat and I expect them to act as such. Sorry I missed out on all the dog analogy stuff. I go fly some and I'm a few pages behind. I'm surprised nobody said they'd shoot the dog if it attacked them. The analogy is poor because dog vs the most prolific killing machine the Earth has ever had, humans, is apples to oranges at best.
  23. You equate putting the gear down to a gig line. This is why you fail.
  24. So if Kamala had won and put Soros in a DOGE like job, that's OK? As to the civics lesson, I wonder what happens when the Executive fails to execute the budget passed by Congress?
