  1. I was just perusing the black friday ads for some of my favorite stores (local) and ther isn't too much in the way of ammo. The deals they have still don't bring the prices down to where they were, say April/May timeframe. I'll wait until Christmas. Out
  2. If airdrop is what you want, go to Mighty Herk. Then you don't have to be featured in that lame-ass "that guy" cartoon above the C-17 sq urinal for asking to drop shit out the back of a plane. Out
  3. Let me guess, a dramatization of a general and his biographer. SNL already did that, to include the 3-way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qdAEKo2gz0 Out
  4. So everyone has to boil this down to raking leaves? The more common example of landscaping "perk" I've seen is where the base housing office has contracted with the base landscaper and has the generals yards taken care of as part of their housing allowance, because it is a quite bit higher than ours and can probably cover the expense of heating that old home and cutting the grass. How about a Lt Col that "runs" the house? Yep, seen that. How about the aide that takes the Mrs on all her errands because "she doesn't like to drive?" Seen that. And then there are the Gens that treat their aides like living dog shit. Heard about that. These are some of the bigger abuses and there isn't much anyone can do about it. The activities of these people are hidden under specifically authorized titles like aides and other craftly termed titles that deflect scruitiny, except for "cook." Now I've got to go make some big important decisions while the cook makes me a sandwitch. Out
  5. Perhaps the gun needs some jumping so that Mr Kerry spends his days worrying about launching that new line of spicy ketchup. Out
  6. Playing chicken with your livelihood is a blast. I guess all those meany executives showed them, proper f u c k e d. And I thought the Twinkie was too big to fail. Out
  7. I gently stocked up before the election. My hope is that others stocked up as well and don't buy much for the next month or so, which hopefully sends the message to suppliers that they can lower their prices. But we all know that if prices were the same we would be buying like crazy. If you make, distribute, or sell ammo and mags, business is good. Nothing like a little fear to generate sales. Out
  8. Ralph Peters was doing the editing that day. Out
  9. Why? 1. Controversy sells. 2. She just put two in the chest and one in the head of any future political aspirations the man had. He was easily electable, but perhaps she didn't like the thought of him holding any office. 3. She is narcissistic and loved the inside joke of her book title. 4. Regardless, he thought he could get away with it. Why else would he do it? Out
  10. Does it puke like a real Nav?
  11. I'm pissed at the general. The top dog can dip his wick but husbands and wives on the same base got the book thown at them for stepping into the spouse's room. And so on with other examples. He should have stuck with porn, at least that won't get jealous and send hateous e-mails to other women "trying to steal the man." Broadwell is Al Qaeda. Out (PS, "hateous" is mine and original)
  12. Go here. https://www.baseops.net/militarypilot/ BOPS made this page because every year, there are hundreds of people that want to know what you want to know. Any more questions, try the search function, often refered to as "UTFSF." Out
  13. You forgot the "dip." Did you give him any sound course of action? Did you tell him the AF fu cked the dog on this board and here is what he should do? Or did you spend your valuable time trying to demean members of this board? If you are feeling a vehement reaction to any of your postings, its because everyone here pretty much smells your bullshit and won't put up with it. You have no credability here and no one cares what you think. You may think you're kind of a big deal, but no one here will ever think so. You've shit the bed here, and now you get to lay in it Mr Poopy Pants. And that is what I will refer to you as from now on. Out
  14. Dearest Sir. I thank you for your thoughtful and insightful internet forum posting. After reviewing your sage words, I now see that all other advise I've seen on this message board is wrong and I am incorrect to follow such folly. I hearby pledge to listen to you because your advise and experience are far more superior. If you have the time, I'd am seeking advise on many issues. For example, for those 1st Lts that were recently passed over, what can they do to fix the travesty? The election will upon us and I still haven't decided if I should vote as I heard from a liberal once that military people should remain apolitical and thus not participate in selecting their civilian leadership. Should I vote anyway, and if so, who should I vote for? I thank you for your time, as I'm sure it is quite valuable as a very senior person of vast responsibility. We are truely blessed that you are able to take the time to participate. Regards, Mr Golami

Harm did it in an episode of JAG. He "stole" a C-130 with Mac to escape from some bad place, probably Thailand. Anyway, he started it up all by him self (E or H1 based on the start buttons) while Mac asked standard silly copilot questions like, "You know how to fly one of these?" and "If we make any noise, we'll get caught!" Anyway, he was able to scilently start the engines and tookoff while being shot at. And of course, he pulled it off. JAG fans seemed happy with that. I didn't see any huge controversy. Its not like if you write something in your book that us not true that the people will call you a huge phony and end your writing career. Just look at Creighton, he makes shit up all the time. BTW, I'm not a JAG fan. I was flippin channels one day and saw a distance shot of a C-130 and thought, hey, whats this? I saw our impotent man, Harm, with the nice lady he cant ever seem to close the deal with, Mac and said, "oh, this is good." A few minutes later I was watching Law and Order and thinking, yeah, Hollywood is full of shit. Out
  16. All I want to know is if he got a PI! One hell of a drop score if he did. Out

Shouldn't be a problem, just work it out with the Flt CC. FWIW, there was a guy in my class that spent every weekend in San Antonio. He did poorly. He washed out. Another guy had a house and wife a few hours away. He did well, but he didn't go home every weekend. I think you get the hint. Out
  18. That is in Tunisia. Check the map, just south of the Gulf of Gabes.
  19. In order to toast this great American with Beers, I tip my hat to anther great American, the esteemed Senator from Wisconsin, John J. Blaine. Another great American achievement, or the undoing of a huge unamerican policy. Cheers, Mr Neil Armstrong, and thanks for the unmeasurable inspiration you've given over your lifetime. (That's the 21st Amendment). Arrivederci
  20. Reason #0.1, AF people are subjected to go on late night TV shows and look silly. I'll head back to my cockpit now to check on my TIT gauges, and afterwards I'll rummage around in my box nasty for something to throw at the nav. Out
  21. This is why I tell the pax terminal I can't carry pax...they cause me to burn more gas and thus more likely to call BINGO to ATC/Tower. Out
  22. One day a pal recommended a book, "One Second After" which caused me to look into civil defense. I found this website (https://www.tacda.org) which publishes/ed a magazine. Years ago I was able to read a few editions online and there were some interesting articles that apply to the short-term scenario (hurricane/flood/blizzard). One point I remember was that if you stock food, it should be stuff you can eat as part of your everyday eating. Once food starts getting to the end of its shelf life, start eating it and replacing it. That way you are not spending a chunck of dough and tossing it out. If you don't care about the moeny, donate it. They also talked about easy to store, basic food staples like dry rice, beans, oats, and other grains. A 50lb sack of a few of those can last quite some time. That is my plan, but not yet implemented. Its cheap and I'll donate the stuff when it gets old. As for water, the easiest is the common case of plastic bottles, but if you want a solid quantity, get a food grade 55gal drum. They even make a pump for the top. BTW, the book tries to raise the alarm on EMP, but I was more facinated at the after effects. No new medicine, food production, rise of gangs, etc. If you liked Alas Babylon, you'd love this one. Out
  23. To which I said I'm tired of the newsies speculating over this point all day long. But hey, speculation is what they love to do. I hear that they even interview guest speculators to speculate on what the anchor just speculated on. My comparison to McVeigh was that he killed a whole lot of people, however justified. He was not insane. Alton Coleman was a serial murder, not insane. This asshole killed a bunch of people, so to make the leap that he's insane because a sane person would never ever do such a thing, is BS. If that were true, anyone that murders is insane. Lastly, my final point is unchanged. Put the dog down. Out
  24. I don't care if he thinks he's insane, or if a doctor thinks so, or if a court thinks so. I heard enough BS from the newsies yesterday regarding insanity that I wanted to punch them in the mouth, Beuford T Justice style. The diabolical evil mind will use everything it can think of just to see how far they can manipulate people/systems. If anyone argues that a sane person would never gun down people like this, they need to recage their idea of sanity. So, I don't care if anyone thinks he's insane. When found guilty, he should stop wasting the good earths air. Put the dog down. It worked for McVeigh. 2nd, this is the exact counter argument to any gun contol nut. Out
  25. I'm hearing too many excuses, but hey, we don't know the facts. But don't make this situation light. This crew f u c k e d up and are damned lucky. The alternative could have been this headline, "C-17 crew kills Gen Mattis." There, does that make it sound serious enough? Crews, more so pilots, and even more so PICs, must have the ability to reprioritize. If they can't, then they need to find a different career. And to any CP out there, if you don't have the balls to say "go around," learn or go do something else. Out Edit: I didn't say XXXX, I said Eff You Cee Kay.
