Also look into SWFA. I have their scope on my M1A and I really like it. It wont break the budget either.

Never heard of them before. It would be ALOT cheaper for you to piece one together yourself though. Not even from scratch, just buy a prebuilt upper from BCM and a built lower receiver group from any number of places and you can have a Ar-15 for under $1k.

First, BIG thumbs up for Bud's. They are awesome. Second, honestly I think an Ar-15 with a 22LR BCG is a better deal than a dedicated MP5 replica. That way you swap out the BCG and have something useful and vice versa and have a very economical plinker.

Is this news developing from the TFI convention at Pease? Because it is my LIMITED understanding that they are trying to mobilize the Guard...thus active duty going to Spain and Guard picking up a TON of the lines for OEF/OIF. Talking to a certain 3 star today he definitely sounded like he wanted to drop the ops tempo for AD Tanker guys.

Why is it I see all these non-rated guys walking around without any AFSC badges on on their ABUs? At first I thought it was all just brand new airmen that hadn't qualified in anything...but I started to notice SNCO's without any badges on either. I am all for not having a million patches on the ABU (think BDU) but it looks equally weird with just name tapes on.

The fact that we self identify more as a business than a branch of the military. That we coddle people who aren't in the fight to make them feel good. Who the fuck cares? I don't want my finance guy thinking he can storm a compound like a squad of Army Rangers. I want him to unfuck my pay and then help the next guy. That's his JOB. But since he might get his feelings hurt...we should belittle the guys that are actually in the fight. Our priorities are jacked up. We are more worried about looking good than being good. Just look at the stuff people are worried about during inspection. Check mark or X in the box? OMG!!! Or the abortion of uniforms being introduced. You seriously are telling me that people TESTED the PT uniform? With the cardboard tshirts that don't breath and shorts that would look home in a certain brightly colored San Francisco parade? Or the ABU with it's billion pockets and winter weight fabric (and that's overlooking the abortion that is it's camo pattern). Or blues mondays? As a flier that can be tasked at any minute why am I not showing up to work prepared to fly at any minute? Oh to "support the war fighter" I am wearing the least war like uniform. That makes sense.

Interesting how the leading edge slats seem to also include the portion just in front of the engine intakes. Those things look big enough to be considered control surfaces rather than slats IMO. I'd say those are the 3D vectoring engines. Just looking at the picture the bottom engine nozzle seems to be pointing down-ish while the top one is straight. Interesting to see the Russians are getting away from the V type setup they had a hard on with the in the Su's. Example: ^Su-30MKM
