Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???

With that perspective, I feel that much more betrayed by Gold-fiend and his AF cronies. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
Do You Think Blue-Suiters in T-6s Would Help?
Duck replied to xcraftllc's topic in General Discussion
I actually get it. I was dual qual'd as a sim guy for a while and I wanted to shoot myself. You can only try to hit a kid with a viper head on so many times before slitting your wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
Do You Think Blue-Suiters in T-6s Would Help?

If they are as pissy and short tempered as the Sim guys at my base... sounds like a recipe for success. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -

Part of moving to the left seat is experience and wisdom. I just don't see how an airline gets a guy spun up to single-seat qualified as a new hire. Possible? Absolutely. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
Do You Think Blue-Suiters in T-6s Would Help?
Duck replied to xcraftllc's topic in General Discussion
Interesting perspective. At my little part of UPT, the reservists are starting to do the math on how much it costs them to come out and do 6-7 days at the unit. Guys are dropping like flies and it ain't gonna get better... Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -

The T-6 community at my base is getting hit with all the additional manning (SOF, Wg jobs, etc) to help keep the T-38s a float. That's all gonna come crashing down when the T-6s get surged this summer. Pain trains coming! Wooo wooo! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???

Because that gives way too much bargaining power to the bonus taker. Don't want to do a 365? Great 7-day opt. Don't like those pcs orders? No big deal. They can't force you. The bonus is not to help you out, it's to make sure you are a slave until retirement or twice passed over or RIF, whichever works out best for the Air Force. Don't get me wrong a year to year would be perfect for those guys who are planning on staying until a better opportunity comes along, I just don't see the AF giving away that much power. My assumption on how this would play out would be at the end of your 10 year everyone would put out airlines apps, those that got hired by their end of ADSC would separate and go to their new job, everyone else signs 1-year bonus and updates their availability date 1 year later and so on. Perfect safety net for those planning to get out but don't want to slum it at a regional or go unemployed... not as good for a service that relies on ADSC to force people to do stuff that they would up and quit at any other job. Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???

The AF isn't interested in anything other than your indentured servitude. Offering a year to year bonus puts way too much power in the pilot's hands. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -

Duck replied to 189Herk's topic in General Discussion
Granted changing changing the 1500 hour rule may increase the potential applicants eventually. However, for a vast majority of Pilots in the Air Force who feel like the Leadership has broken faith with them, it only further alienates that group more. ?s on ADSC (Active Duty Service Commitment)

What was up with that memo (rumor?) about no longer being able to opt out of a deployment due to retirement or separation once you have already been tagged with it even if it extends past your eligibility window for retirement or separation? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
Just goes to show how well thought out the whole PC program is. I think it should just go straight to AFPC and SAF since they do whatever they want anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

Every time I sent mine through it went to Sq/CC first. Where did you get this info? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

Yes as part of the PC vMPF application, you have a section for overall comments as well as the ability to attach PDF docs, etc. Your WG/CC will be able to see all of this, so that would probably be the best. Another option is to talk to your SQ/CC to get his blessing to ask for a 5 min face to face with the WG/CC to explain your situation. Then go through his secretary to schedule the meeting. Let me know how this goes for you, as I am probably going to be in the same boat after this board. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

I know of SAF approving when everyone else said disapprove, so it makes me think they pretty much do whatever they want. (This was pre-VSP days) I'm assuming the bleeding is so bad now it's just a numbers game. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

You don't have to tell me brother. I graduated when 38s were only getting preds or U-28s. Now a days you can Class A a jet, meet 2 TRBs and get a Viper! I seen it! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

Yeah brother. After the second pass over for O-4, lately EVERYONE who is an 11x, has been offered continuation to 20. It is still the Pilot's option to accept it. If he does nothing or turns it down he has to separate NLT 6 months later. He does have the option to submit an earlier separation date, it just can't extend past the 6 month timeline. You Devil Dogs are still on 8 year Pilot Commitments right? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
