  1. read the AFI closely. As quoted above, "when wearing the ABU coat..." and Chapter 5 is all about the ABU anyway. Nowhere is this stipulated when wearing Friday shirts with the FDU (Chapter 8). "8.7. Undergarments. Undergarments are required with the FDU and DFDU. During flight operations all undergarments, to include cold weather undergarments, must be cotton or fire retardant material and must be on the safe to fly list maintained by Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE). Undershirts will be crewneck style and tan in color. Exception: Wing Commanders may authorize Airmen to wear a designated unit standardized color undershirt on Fridays, or during special events."
  2. no, that stipulation only applies to the ABUs.
  3. yes, S/MIME is Miscrosoft propietary and only works on 32-bit versions of IE. So S/MIME will never work on a Mac, since Microsoft ended support for the OS X version of IE many many years ago.
  4. if the question is about accomplishing a curtailment, I don't think those are that cosmic. It doesn't mean a position is being cut, it means someone is asking to be released from an assignment/location early. I've seen others do this from OCONUS locations. It's just a request to curtail the length of the current assignment. So in his case, since that ADSC exceeded his UPT ADSC, he needs to curtail to be released. ETA: the correct term in AFI 36-2110 is a "stabilized tour." Para 1.4 talks about waivers, suggest you start there.
  5. have you met with him to ask the status of your application? Make him tell you to your face that he's slow-rolling it, or conversely you calling him out may actually get him to act in a timely manner.
  6. that will be the last status update until you either get word that it's approved or denied (at least, that was my experience 2 months ago with my request for separation process)
  7. to be clear, this one sounds like the last one - AKA NOT an MC-12, but an Army variant. either way, still sucks.
  8. and YOU have to sign the dwell reduction waiver paperwork to say you agreed to it. So don't sign it.
  9. glad my terminal leave started 6 days ago.
  10. I was on that SIB. Damn lucky no one died...one of the M-28 dudes was thrown and pinned underneath the helo as it rolled. Luckily there was a foot of dust he sank into and the PJs were able to just pull him out. They did a CDI in lieu of an AIB for the HH-60 one, so I have no idea how to find a copy of that to post here, sorry.
  11. two dudes have done this in Rescue - turned down PCS orders. They were required to set a date of separation of their ADSC expiration date...neither got 365s, but they continued to deploy as normal in the community until their time was up.
  12. rog, thanks. has anyone used the MilSpaceA app, and did you think it was worth the $3.99 price? I saw it on takeahop.com...
  13. thread bump. I'm looking to space a to both Japan and Europe if possible. Can this be done without travelling back through CONUS between destinations? Just wondering how often Europe and Asia are linked via flights.
  14. Here's a toast...
  15. AIB is out on the HH-60 Class A at Kadena. https://www.pacaf.af.mil/library/publicreports/index.asp

  17. we don't land to the wrong airport, we call that a false insertion. (really, we do)
  18. second on the white wing, I dig it. Also, just had the Breckenridge Agave Wheat, and while slightly sweeter than other wheats, goes down smooth. 8/10.
  19. 7.1.6. Footwear. 7.1.6.1. Socks. Socks are mandatory. Socks will be white or black and may have small trademark logos. 7.1.6.2. Athletic style shoes. Athletic style shoes are mandatory. There are no restrictions on the color of the athletic shoes.
  20. I wonder how much deserved chiefing will go on for those unaware they need WG/CC and SQ/CC approval for most of these things and need to wait for it.
  21. yes, it's still dated 2011 on e-pubs, but when you open it up, it says that it incorporates through Change 3 and is dated 17 Jan 14.
  22. Cap-10, you also need to print out the appropriate WG/CC and SQ/CC approvals...aka, don't jump the gun or you getting Chiefed will be valid! ;)
  23. well fuck. I get 2 Fridays to do this before I go on terminal leave.
  24. Chris Stover's funeral will be 1000 on 27 January at the USAF Academy.
  25. Information regarding Sean's funeral: Below are details about the service for Capt Sean M. Ruane for those of you wishing to attend. Be advised we are working airlift for active duty military from Moody, DM, and Nellis, but still working it. If you are flying commercial, recommend you fly into Pittsburgh International Airport Friday morning (Jan 24th) and can attend one of the viewings on Friday. Thursday’s viewings will primarily be attended by those within the Pittsburgh area, while we’re trying to save room for military and personnel from out of town to attend the viewings on Friday. Please look below for hotel discount information and stand by for additional hotel discount info and rental car discount info. All CC’s also will be getting the same details to spread to the squadrons as well. Please, if you know of anyone wanting to attend, share this information with them so that everyone has a chance to pay their respects to our beloved brother Sean and to the Ruane and Roderer families.
