World War III Updates
Biden’s too busy filling his depends beyond capacity in this picture to be doing coke. And Kamala is too busy practicing writing her lowercase alphabet on the big lined paper used in kindergarten.

F-35 Lightning/JSF (Joint Strike Fighter)
All about money and shinny new things. The Swiss have zero need for the F-35. It’s actually probably a negative for them, and should have gone with Block 70 Vipers, new Super Hornets, etc. Similar applies to multiple partner countries.

Seen it happen several times…no rule, but generally they’re around for 2-3 years post MQT before changing units/doing a VLPAD. The ARC is generally far better at caring about what’s best for you than AD is. Any good CC will support him doing what’s best for his life. But up to the day he leaves, be a good dude and put the effort in. That will make leadership care more about helping out.

The new airline thread
Americans are greatly overextended. The economic outlook is not good for the middle class. If you’re wealthy or poor/illegal, you‘ll be taken care of.

The Next President is...
Completely serious. Biden is as big a POS human as the political class comes. Maybe look beyond his current dementia, going all the way back to the early days. He and his family (and many of the elite in the US) are selfish dirtbags who think they are above the law and better than all of us not in said elite class. If you can’t see that, I guess you actually do have TDS. Making excuses for Biden as if he’s a better human than Trump is ludicrous and uninformed. At best they’re both equally shit. I don’t put Desantis or Vivek in the political class (we’re taking people like Schumer, Pelosi, McConnell, etc.) I actually don’t like Haley much, but while very much establishment, she is better than all the aforementioned names (not including Desantis/Vivek imo). In the end, I would have much rather seen Desantis, Vivek or Haley be the nominee, and would happily vote for any of them vs. the shitshow that the Dems are. But here we are, and I’m voting based on policy, not emotions. Votes driven by emotion is how we’ve arrived at this point.

The Next President is...
The brain buster though is you just described Biden perfectly. Also easily described just about everyone in the political class. There’s the real problem in our country - we only run and elect people (in recent history) who fit these traits. So given that Biden and Trump are equal in shit character, might as well go with the guy who’s policies are more favorable for America and less favorable for our enemies. I don’t think you have TDS, I think you have only provided an assessment on one side while not doing (or at least not presenting) the same “balanced” assessment on the other side. As for this conservative, I’m not making excuses for trumps behavior, but I’m also not pretending the other guy has better character. So once again we’re forced to choose between a douche and a turd sandwich, so I’m taking the one with better and more effective policies.

Today in hypocrisy...
Progressive leftists not remotely living what they demand of everyone else, how shocking. Complete shit-for-brains, hypocritical assholes, every single one.

I think your buddy is stuck. There likely aren’t unfilled AD slots he could just slide into. If he quits, that’s probably the end of flying in the mil. If he wants to fly, then suck it up, go to the home unit for a couple years, and look for a transfer to another unit or a VLPAD option.

Switching from heavies to fighter guard/reserve
Required: Get losing unit CC approval/agreement, do the release/gaining paperwork between state HROs, go to a TX. Obviously you also need to get “hired” by the heavy squadron you want to join. I know several guys who have gone tankers or MQ-9s. Much easier than the other direction.

The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)
Hearing, vision, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability….about par for the course since I first interacted with a FSDO 20+ years ago.

VA disability that doesn’t affect FAA/ civilian flying
@nsplayr Your experience is standard in so many places. There’s a lot of open land to build in some places, but when you throw in city gov, politics with developers, etc. it’s just a losing battle for the normal person. I looked into building a “large” hangar (3-4 GA acft size) at the nearby city airport…likely near $1M and I don’t get to own the land. Not worth it, no matter how much I love flying.

The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)
It’ll be swept under the rug immediately, and you’ll be a racist, ______phobic, etc. if you bring it up. Just like every mass shooting when the shooter is trans, minority, illegal alien, etc.

Maybe a 2Lt Miss USA?
It’s certainly not her fault that our society has spent a couple decades fucking over women and minorities who actually earn their way. I truly hope she’s awesome like many of the women I’ve flown with.

VA disability that doesn’t affect FAA/ civilian flying
The hangar situation across a lot of the US is a total disaster - main reason I don’t currently own a plane. Really sucks.

VA disability that doesn’t affect FAA/ civilian flying
@Biff_T What you’re looking for is light sport (LSA) and Basic Med. However, I believe you have to have a current class 3 in order to get basic med initially (and then you’re gtg even if you subsequently lose the class 3). But, worth doing further research on the class 3 req/waiver process to get basic med without class 3. …or ref BFM’s post. Way more people flying without license/med/insurance than most think. I’m not condoning it, but it is fact.

Maybe a 2Lt Miss USA?
She’s bulletproof now. Sorry pipeline bros who have to pass her through every step, regardless of performance. I hope she actually gives a shit about being a pilot, works her ass off at it, and accepts responsibility for her performance. But, also won’t be surprised if none of that is true.

The new airline thread
That’s rough for SWA wannabes. Hopefully they also have apps in at DL/UA/AA.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year
Yeah. Granted it by no means is a norm, but it has happened. Also have seen many sq/cc in the last couple years that were very new O-5s. Like been one for months, not years. AD’s dumbassery combined with airline hiring has ravaged the ranks.

The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)
Anyone who supports shit like this or worse, actually believes in it, are the dumbest motherfuckers to waste oxygen in our earth's history thus far. Its well beyond "everyone's entitled to their opinion," and squarely lies in the realm of "you lack the mental processing power of even a below average adult mind."

Commanders are dropping like flies this year
FS/CC major has already happened a few years ago. It’s been that bad for that long. To be clear, he’s a patch and very capable, so this doesn’t reflect on him personally.

I wanted to decline school in 1st look, OG and WG didn’t concur (they “knew what was best” for me). The WG joked, “well you can just go to the guard if you won’t go to school now, but you need to go so I’m pushing this forward. It’ll be good for your career.” I had the last laugh on that one! AD will never learn that guys just want some semblance of QOL control for their families and more of a say on the career “track” they want. AD will never be OK with dudes who just want to take part in the dismantling of our enemies.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
It’s cheaper to stay in a decent place in Old Town than it is to stay at Andrews. WTF?

PME points processing question
You can get PME points that count towards a guard retirement, but not an AGR retirement (e.g. if you knocked out PME as a DSG). I want the days counting towards an AGR since I’m close enough to maybe get one. I was on orders when I did ACSC in correspondence, so don’t want those days to not count towards my AGR retirement just because I happened to be enrolled in PME at the time.
