OTS? I guess I could see that, but OTS has always been the worst way to get to flying from a probability of success perspective. Any other route to flying isn’t going to care.

Air Force is hiring for civilian T-6 IPs
Your best bet is to score flying with other units. Your CC should help facilitate that. It won’t likely be the amount or consistency you really want, but it’ll keep your “head above water” flying-wise until the future aircraft course. Consider things like: - Augment another unit’s deployment, TDYs, etc. - Go TDY every 6 weeks or so to get a couple sorties with another unit - Look into ability to PCS to another unit for a couple years until the new aircraft training timing is right - Is there a TX available to attend earlier and you go to another unit with the new aircraft for a while until home unit has the new aircraft? All of these options are tried and true. Talk to your CC about all of them.

Tangentially related, my mom complains to me yesterday about the gov pulling the rug out from her regarding SS changes. I said, “well yeah, it’s the gov. They’re retarded with money and will screw you over at every opportunity that comes their way.” The gov will always fuck you when convenient for them. The bonus system fuckery is in their wheelhouse!

Nailed it. But given the choice, I’d still rather do fucked up no-notices than fucked up “prep bullshit for 6-9 months” inspections (then let it all wither for 2-3 years and repeat). Either way you’re fucked, but at least you didn’t waste 6-9 mo of your life pulling 12 hr queep days on MICT, etc.

The most logical reason I can think of is she’s holding out for Trump to be convicted of something that legally prevents him from being President and she can “swoop” in and take the nomination. It’s a low probability of success gameplan, but she probably doesn’t give a shit as long as the money is there.

That was known at least a couple years ago, but of course there was a massive effort to suppress said information. Similarly I got a good laugh out of Fauci recently admitting the 6 ft distancing rule was basically pulled out of his ass and had no scientific data to support it (keep in mind the rest of the world did 1m from the beginning).

That and what guard baby would want to deal with the metric shit ton of AD bullshit that comes with a demo team. The vast majority of fighter pilots want nothing to do with that bullshit, doubly so for a guard dude. I know several great dudes who have done T Birds or specific jet demo teams - this isn’t shitting on them personally, It was right for them, and that’s awesome. However, they are very much in the minority for wanting to do it.

Anyone know if a temporary change to your exemptions and/or W4 will reduce bonus taxes? My idea is adjust those for the month of the bonus payout, then adjust them back to standard afterwards - goal is not give the govt an interest free loan. If this isn’t going to work, any other ideas?
