  1. UH-60M = no AR probe MH-60M = AR probe (just one example, which you're obviously aware of...not saying it will have the exact same probe or specifications) I think there will me some more similarities to the MH-60M vs just being similar to a slick UH-60M. I'm pretty sure I know you what meant though.
  2. I know you put your asterisk comment, but just to reiterate, nothing has been awarded as of yet as the Milestone B Decision has to be officially made, which must be done prior to contract award. As for the actual aircraft, the 160th SOAR is already flying MH-60M models...my bet is that it will be similar to that design, just finely tailored for the Air Force and its PR mission. I think we'll know for sure here pretty soon!
  3. ...I'm almost sorry I asked. Actually, I am sorry I asked. I didn't think the term 'docs' would be misconstrued for nurses, pharmacists, PA's, etc. Next time, instead of repeating your original word of 'doc', I will specificy "How many M.D.'s and D.O.'s..." Glad we cleared that all up.
  4. What percentage of the AF non-rated officers (to include flight docs) are docs? Besides, don't the docs already get a larger doc pay/bonus? Also, I'm assuming that docs don't even make up half of medical officers...could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure StoleIt was referring to CE's, MX O's, Comm O's, etc...you know, the entire pool of non-rated officers he was referring to. Just busting your balls a little, man. I have heard that from young acquisition O's that the AF does have a tough time in keeping them past their first assignment since they can make a lot more on the outside. Guess it's a good thing, since the young ones are getting ass raped on the force shaping/RIF.

Not exactly answering your question here...but why not just an AK-74, which is the original rifle for the 5.45? Classic Arms has quality Waffen Werks AK-74's for as cheap at $600, and for a little more you can get it with nicer furniture. Also, I've seen Bulgarian polymer mags as cheap as $13-15 for the 74 (they're not Circle 10 quality, but they'll definitely do the job most need them to do). I have a WW 74 and it's a great shooter. Whatever you get, don't forget to rinse out and then clean your rifle right away after shooting the corrosive ammo that you linked.
  6. Thank God you are not a real operator...time is too precious to have to explain jokes and sarcasm.
  7. ...or just record the whole thing. Worst (or best?) case is that it keeps you out of jail...if that's never needed, then you get to watch the best porno ever made (well, if you're me anyway).

Sorry that I'm a little late on the response. You list some great choices, but my reason for being so interested in VCOG is the robustness and durability of Trijicon's products and that it will (hopefully) be extended to their variable low powered scopes. I'm far from an optics expert, but I'm not familiar with any of the products you listed (such as the Leupold 1-6) that can take as much of a beating as the Trijicon when it comes to magnified optics. Having family members in Army combat MOS's and some good friends in various ground SOF roles, they all have told me their opinions on the Trijicon in terms of a 'tactical' accessory (for me it would be more 'tacticool' haha) and how it can be tossed around with little to no problems. Thoughts? Oh, and I registered for the Fed/mil discount with Leupold, and like the others have said, damn those discounts are pretty sweet! I'll definitely be making a purchase soon!
  9. I saw a similar email...but the one I saw with the 85% for O-4's was specifically for JAG types.
  10. Today that is not acceptable as it perpetuates the 'War Against Women'. You should be thrown in jail for even suggesting such an act in a jokingly way. I'll forgive you if you post some hot pics of Ukranian chicks...the less clothes the better.
  11. Really? Not going to happen...don't forget, our top civilian officials and GO's have been saying that even with the cuts that our military will still be just as capable as before with regards to achieving our natural security objectives. So according to those folks, 'we're good'. But seriously, does anybody seriously think we should get militarily involved with this one?

No info, but questions: What do you want to order? Do you know how much their mil discounts are? Different related question on optics: Anybody checked out the reviews written on Trijicon's new VCOG? Looks pretty damn sweet...pretty damn expensive too.
  13. And senior officers wonder why many in the ranks don't believe in what AF management has to say. I was taught as young instructor that I had to establish credibility...I don't see much credibility with this issue.
  14. It was passed in the budget and appropriated...so the money is there if the AF once again decides to use it. I'm in the same boat man but I have a feeling it's going to get delayed longer than usual because of the VSP/RIF BS. But you're right, for an 11F (assuming it would at least be the same as last year), the longer it takes, the more you lose since you would get it to 20. Damn bastard.
  15. Regardless of your politics, there's a Senate race this year in Alaska which could be very close and could potentially be the race to flip the Senate...so if you're looking for a vote that matters compared to not, you've found one. The State benefits will always trump which State I want to vote in. Think about it--you automatically receive the benefits of the State you claim, but it's very doubtful that the political vote will come down to your 1 single vote.
  16. Well, I can't imagine ANYONE thinking it was classy/a good idea to make jokingly poses in front of a coffin of a dead service member draped with the American flag...so much for not being able to imagine things correctly. If we're busting folks for having pictures on their work desk of their wives at the beach, then I think this is more than fair game.
  17. Read what I wrote. I said (or definitely implied) that of course you react in a true emergency situation...but you bill the parents/guardians afterwards. If they can't pay then you garnish their wages, repossess their property, or have the courts decide if they can truly care for that child as children are the repsonbilty of the parents/guardians and not the State. And I'm surprised you're not smart enough to realize (given the intelligent writing you show in your posts...hell, my posts aren't the best but at least they're mostly coherent), that there are plenty of charities who help with bills in situations such as these. Should I stop voluntarily giving my property to charities? And why are you bitching about answering your question? You have failed to answer ours.

By far the best news I have heard all day. Illinois went 'Shall Issue' and it appears as CA will have to do the same. This could be the start of requiring every State to be 'Shall Issue'.
  19. I think you started drinking a little too early tonight...then again, you may be pretty far east of me. Children are the responsibility of their parents/guardians. If the local government decides they want to pay for the kid, then that's fine...I'm not an anarchist. But you're comparing a freak situation with routine care and food stamps? Same with the ER. Do I think the parents should be billed after all of this is done...bet your ass I do. And if they can't take care of their children, then they're negligent and should be dealt with via the courts. There's an incentive for people to have kids who can't afford them or take care of them properly...one reason the out of wedlock birthrate is pretty damn high, especially amongst the poorest. Or are you going to tell me that everything is just great? You're also forgetting that there are charities who help people in cases such as this scenario, in terms of covering bills, etc. Or am I lying and that there are no charities that help other people in times of need? If so, then I've been giving my money (voluntarily) away to fake organizations. I have no problems paying local taxes as well as having a federal tax system...like I said, I'm not an anarchist, and I believe in government, just limited, especially at the federal level. I can choose to live in a certain municipality or not...I can choose to live in a certain State...or not. When it comes to the federal government...see what I'm getting at? Oh, and we had hospitals before we had an income tax, we had roads before an income tax, we had prisons, police, firefighters, etc. Now another question for you--do you disagree that we have a wealth redistribution system in the US, especially at the federal level? If you want to voluntarily give your wealth away to certain groups, then go for it! Stop bitching and help people if you truly believe they need help. Government is pretty damn inefficient and takes money with the threat of force...in case you haven't learned.
  20. So why didn't you, your family, and your community that you belong to (especially those who are liberal) take up a collection and pay for the medical bills? This is a serious question. If my brother needs help because things are out of his control and are negatively impacting his life, then my parents, and the rest of his siblings are the ones to help him out. You never commented on what I also said earlier--why didn't all those who support Obamacare take up a collection, or develop their own insurance company for high risk people to take care of the people you mention? Why do you fault a business for acting within the terms agreed upon by the both parties (the buyer and the seller)? I'm sure the insurance company was not in breach of the fine print, else, you could easily take them to court. You either are ducking this point, or you truly don't understand how the system works if you think other people are not going to be paying for these 'reduced costs' and/or 'available coverage' for your family member. I have backlash against theft...call me crazy. If a thug on the side of the road robs me at gun-point and then gives my property to some 'well deserving people', then I'm sure those said people will be helped in a good way and will definitely think the person who gave them the money. Again, you and your family, as well as whatever friends you all have, could have taken care of your family member's high medical bills...but you didn't, or at least you fail to do so now because she is 'getting help' from the government. This is all just another handout by the government funded by the taking of property from others. But I'm glad you feel good about it.
  21. Haha! You're so old that it took you a while to get the joke! Nothing but love for my elders...and besides, I'm probably not that far behind. "Yo mama so fat..."
  22. Dude, I get it...honestly, I do. I don't envy anybody who has health problems or has family members with health problems. But seriously...why is it the government's job to force a business to give said family member something and then force taxpayers to cover the difference in cost? It comes down to what you think the government should be and should do. If all these people want to 'help other people', then why didn't they just do it of their own free will? The 40-45% of the population who support Obamacare could have raised millions (potentially billions) of dollars in order to help the less fortunate and they could have done so without forcing people to pay for someone else's misfortune. I know, I know...I'm 'heartless' or 'mean'. In reality, I hate forced charity, whereas politicians are very charitable with other people's money. If a church (or any other organization, religious or not, that people want to voluntarily belong to) that I voluntarily decide to go to has a member who is truly needing help, then the leadership of that organization can request money from its members to help pay for what needs to be done. What we have now is a bunch of politicians (on both sides) that campaign on how they will take money from those who have it in order to give to those who do not have it...in exchange for votes, because if they can't get elected, then they can't perform the wealth redistribution. Politicians want you to rely on the State, not to rely on each other.
