And now Biden is blaming Trump…suggesting that he couldn’t change the policy that was laid out by Trump before Biden took office. But yet Biden has reversed Trump’s policies on everything from the border, to immigration, to the pipeline, to transgenders serving in the military…on and on. Full disclosure: I’m glad we’re out, and it’s long overdue, so I’m not blaming Biden per se. But if Biden truly believed that Afghanistan’s military was going to be effective then he’s more incompetent than I thought (or a liar) and/or needs to replace his most senior advisors who are incompetent and giving Biden bad info. And for all the progressives and neocons arguing that nationalism and “America First” is wrong or somehow racist, this is what happens when you put the well being of other countries above your own citizenry. It sucks that the Taliban will go back to treating women so poorly and commit other atrocities, but it’s not our responsibility to fix it.

Nah…$2K. Bidenflation.

How long before Kabul falls and resembles something like this… https://af.usembassy.gov/security-alert-u-s-embassy-kabul-afghanistan-august-7-2021/?fbclid=IwAR1sWr5guHDeA--Qaf--io-khSgxyvoeK_vznYxrPsnaKvczHkXJaFEGnUI

The current 2.5 studs at RND don’t show up to the T-1…they get some academics and sims/VR and then it’s off to the FTUs.
-
Looks like someone needs an 11-402 refresher… 3.2.3. Aviation service is a privilege, not a right. Entry into training for the rated officer and career enlisted aviator career fields is voluntary.

So a college professor, at progressive school in California, apologizing for not using a woke term is not believable to you? Really? How about this from Harvard? “Affordable, timely, high-quality, equitable, and dignified care during and after pregnancy is essential for all birthing people.” https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/advancing-maternal-justice-on-both-sides-of-the-atlantic-2020100821100

Let me guess…if this was from the Washington Post, NYT, Newsweek, CNN, etc then you probably wouldn’t have questioned the source… Well, here’s Newsweek saying Biden’s own administration is on the same push. ”Biden Admin Replaces ‘Mothers’ with ‘Birthing People’ in Maternal Health Guidance.” https://www.newsweek.com/biden-admin-replaces-mothers-birthing-people-maternal-health-guidance-1598343?amp=1

4 months ago if you had the shot and didn’t wear your mask then you were labeled a grandma killer, you know, because science…then a short time later, you were told you didn’t need to wear a mask because you did your duty and got the shot (because you didn’t want to kill grandma). Now if you’ve had the shot and you don’t wear your mask then you want to kill grandma…you know, because science. Keep in mind that John Kerry literally used the words “settled science” wrt global warming. And if you say “pregnant mother” (see link below) then you’re a horrible person because somehow men can now have babies. If you still think this stuff isn’t political then you’ll never see it… https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-california-medical-prof-apologizes-for-saying-pregnant-women

You’re just selfish…or something.

Did I not say that it’s China’s to take if they want it? If they’re not wanting to take the island it’s because it’s not their interests to do so right now (it would cost them resources, etc)—they’re not worried about the US stopping them. Also, if you think the US would do anything meaningful to defend Taiwan then we’re in complete disagreement (go figure). Edited to add: Sorry if that came across brash—I’m tired and haven’t had dinner yet. My points still stand.
-
What do you mean “US as the only additional player”? We wouldn’t militarily intervene, and wouldn’t do too much other than some minor sanctions. We’re not about ready to go to war/fire on a country in which our economy is so closely tied.
-
My money is on the Chinese commies. My money is also on that we wouldn’t fire a single round to stop them. If we don’t care about the Chinese commies running China the way they do and their influence over their region, then we’re not going to care if they invade an island that they continue to claim as their own. Sure we’ll condemn it and the UN will have some harsh words and perhaps we might impose a few minor (but not significant) sanctions but that will be it. That’s what happens when you’re so economically in bed with your (supposed) enemy. If the CCP wants to put its troops on Taiwan, it’s theirs to take. My $.02

Not at Randolph with the current studs.

Fair enough. I can’t speak for the Guard/Reserve side, just the AD side. Would you fly the same amount in Reserves as an O-6 that you do now as an O-5?
-
Why? Unless you just want to make O-6…which is as good of a reason as any I guess. But then I would have to ask why you would want to make O-6 and literally be a volunteer for any assignment.

UPT 2.5 grads at RND are not going to a full phase 3. The “T-1/heavy tracked” students get 6 weeks of T-1 sims/VR and off to the FTUs they go. I think Vance 2.5 grads are actually flying the T-1, but I forget how much time they get.
-
So the OG/CC won’t be there since he’s an ABM…
-
Well, your arguments are usually weak, so I wasn’t expecting this one to be much different.
-
So I’m confused…should businesses have to bake the cake or not? Since someone can go to a different bakery…
-
I’m not saying it would have been much different with Trump, but this is laughable: From the Pentagon Spokesperson: “He said Afghanistan's capacity and capabilities included a "very capable" Air Force and "very sophisticated" special forces that can help defend the country from the Taliban resurgence.” Seriously, who are they trying to fool? https://www.foxnews.com/politics/taliban-afghanistan-us-troop-withdrawal-pentagon-john-kirby?cmpid=fb_fnc&fbclid=IwAR3P9imd2vIg5-1OlY_ZVmdBcjyNO9Do6V8RdZ5YEsRbyBicZ8EpxyVKZeQ

If I’m a betting man, then my money is on the Taliban. If the Taliban wasn’t defeated with us being there and actively engaging, I don’t see any way the Afghan government/military will defeat the Taliban. I’m the end, the Taliban wants it more.
-
President Biden: “We can be value added, but the Afghans are going to have to be able to do it themselves with the Air Force they have.” Also: He claimed the Afghan military fields a force of 300,000 that is "as well equipped as any army in the world, an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban." Behold, Afghanistan’s Air Force: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/afghan-pilots-assassinated-by-taliban-us-withdraws-2021-07-09/

I do enjoy it when people compare military healthcare (as a part of compensation for military service) to taxpayer funded healthcare to those just because they have a pulse. So are you legitimately wanting to have a discussion about military/retiree healthcare or is your post due to my back and forth with Prozac regarding taxpayer funded welfare? If it’s the former, we can probably have that conversation on a different thread. The only reason I mentioned taxpayer funded healthcare is because Prozac brought it up wrt covid.
