Ok, so my wife & I both max out our Roth IRAs (mine from USAA, hers from Vanguard). I've also been putting away about 9% of basic pay into a traditional TSP. Been thinking about converting the TSP to a Roth. Is it smart to keep the traditional TSP since we are already putting in $11K/year with our Roths? Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

All of the guys from our wing who were just passed over their APZ to O5 were all given TERA with a NLT 31 Dec 14 date...all 11M. For what it's worth.

I understand. The SRO from my class was a Reservist Capt & former C-130 Nav who was going back to his unit. It's not necessarily true that he was treated better, but he was able to leverage better treatment for the flight based on that. We also had an Army fixed wing qual Major that also deflected a lot of queep for the flight.

I'd recommend box.com for all of your documents. You can actually get to it from the .mil and you get something like 50 GB storage for free. Also, each folder you set up on there comes with it's own unique email address so you can upload docs to it by just emailing it to that address.

It's not that big if a deal...MWS IP is > than OSA IP, however it's not the end all be all. When I left the C-21 in 2006, they just started the ACIQ flow for MWS guys coming over. If that's still the case, you'll quickly upgrade to IP. I'd bet it would be around the 1 year point. The C-21 was a great time...simple jet, simple mission, & good flying.

I oftentimes check my work email from home to avoid going into work in the first place, and if it gives me SA on what's going on around the office, I don't see the harm. Shit, it takes all of 2 minutes to check---a lot less than it takes for all y'all to make your 10th post of the day on BODN.
