  2. I just knocked mine out with Chennault Flying Services in North Las Vegas. Outstanding, can't say enough about it. The owner is an Eagle dude who is very cool and big picture. I did the practical in 2 days. A dude from Luke drove up, he flew first, I watched from the backseat, we swapped and repeated for 2 flights actually flying the Beach 95, then we did our check rides with Retz the next day (flew with one of his CFI's who was a touchdown the first day). All in all very painless and big picture for a total of $3,700 including the check ride. I did the ATP CTP with PanAm flight school in Henderson, which was $3,900. Give me a PM if you'd like Retz's contact info. Total touchdown. You can also find the company on FaceBook.

The good stuff is worthwhile. Plenty of good choices as mentioned. I carry Hornady and Winchester PDX. For range ammo, check out www.freedommunitions.com and http://www.ammonv.com/. Both are good for the range.
  4. Valid points. The issue I have with it is that it doesn't address the root cause of why pilots are getting out. One thing I heard a different GO say was that we don't have a retention problem, we have a leadership problem, which I actually agree with (meaning people leaving in large numbers is symptomatic, rather than the problem itself). Looking at external factors beyond control as opposed to issues internal to the Air Force and how we lead and manage our people is a poor approach.
  5. "Centralized Control, Centralized Execution" is the new hotness. Apparently you didn't get that memo......
  6. Update the EW range. Reduce the number of players. Make the scenarios more about basic integration with other platforms than trying to solve WW3 with poor assumptions and invalid lessons learned. In other words, go back to the roots of why RF was started. Solving WIC level scenarios with a group that typically doesn't even have the deconfliction solved by the final coord isn't the way to go.
  7. FBI Director: we're not filing charges, but we're very disappointed with you. We're going to write your name on the chalk board and put a check mark next to it!

  10. Easy there. How about you put away the "jump to conclusions mat"? The facts are: the airplane stopped working, Tuna got out safely, noone on the ground was hurt, said airplane crashed in a field. All else is just hearsay right now and you should know better.
  11. You should start with asking your patch if he thinks you're ready for the IPUG. Doing well in the FLUG, being a good flight lead, leader, being mature enough, etc gets you into the IPUG. Doing well in the IPUG and being an awesome IP (which encompasses being a good leader in your squadron) is your ticket to WIC. Getting an assignment changed can be a stretch, but it's been done. If that doesn't work out, I've seen active duty guys get out, get hired by the Guard/Reserves, go to WIC, and do well.

Glock 30S in a N82 tactical holster. If you want an even smaller gun in 9mm check out the Shield, XDS, or Ruger LC9S Pro, all of which are excellent choices.
  13. Gotta love how all the idiots who know two things about aviation (jack and shit) take out their "jump to conclusions" mats.
