  1. I don't see that happening. Why would they pick someone who has never even flown line abreast over a dude who has been out of a fighter for a few years? Just sayin'.
  2. I fly with the gradient visor. Much easier for tallies w/crappy visability vs the standard dark visor IMO. Haven't tried a high contrast visor yet.... I've never flown with sunglasses myself, I imagine they'd bother me and get in the way....meh. Outside the jet I wear half jackets which are money.
  3. Let's keep the speculations and details to 0 for now.

    Grayout

If you're really worried about it, I'd add legs to your workout routine at the gym (I know there's not much time for the gym as a stud, but its worth it). Leg presses, squats, and other leg exercises will pay off dividends to you. I GLOC'd in the friggin 38 fuge on the check 6 at 6 for 10 sec (which is after the 7.5 for 15sec) for not really straining. I figured, hey I just did 7.5, this next one will get cake. Goodnight. Made for a funny video anyways. Since then I've been working legs and more abs into my workout pretty religiously. When I went back for the Viper profile (and hadnt been flying for over a month) I had no issues at all. If I can do it, anyone can.
  6. VN 07-12 38's: 1 B-52 1 B-1 1 T-6 1 F-16 1 F-22 Toners: Not sure the exact numbers but it went like this: RC-135 Offut (dude's 1st choice) 1 or 2 T-1 Faips... Bunch of C-17's to Dover KC-135 Japan KC-135 Fairchild KC-135 McConnel Forget what else the toners had.....
  7. Pulling rank in the gym...awesome... I thought it was tradition that 2Lt's don't salute 1Lt's....I guess that's not common knowledge?
  8. Excellent post Bozz, thanks for sharing your experience.
  9. Dude, you're a fookin' SNAP, quit being a douche. Suck it up and get through it...or SIE, your choice. Either way, you won't get any sympathy from me, or probably anyone else here. You must realize that ball-stomping will be standard.
  10. I ride an '04 Honda 919. It's a nekkid sportbike based on a fuel injected version of the cbr 900rr motor. I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take a few. Not many good locations in OK to ride, which is kinda frustrating...if anyone else here is stuck in OK and wants to go for a group ride, send me a PM...
  11. 1. If there ever was a day before the following bullsh!t: IA training, self-aid buddy care, suicide prevention training, homo training, sexual harassment training, and all that other happy horsesh!t training. 2. "Fly fight and win" vice the current "supremecy in cyberspace and other gayness" slogan. 3. Titties at the club (maybe people would actually want to be members again). 4. MEO being non-existent. 5. The term "politically correct" being non-existent.
  12. Flight pay is technically a bonus and therefore gets taxed at a higher rate than your base pay (meaning you might as well put it into TSP). For those asking about Fidelity, I've been really pleased with using Fidelity. Not only do they offer some great funds, but they also have excellent customer service. Avoid First Command like the plague. All of my friends that went with them have been unhappy and went elsewhere...
  13. For the wife and I's ROTH IRA's we go through Fidelity. Right now I only have the Contrafund (FCNTX) in my portfolio, but it has been doing really well. I looked into investing with USAA and was less than impressed with their mutual funds. As for TSP, I contribute my flight pay and 5% of my base pay.
  14. This first story was done by some d-bag on an area solo in the T-6 a couple classes ahead of me: While on an area solo said d-bag found himself close to going out the bottom of his area. He reacted by reefing back on the stick and by doing so pulled to about 9G's (7.0 is the symmetric limit). He then further freaked out and punched off the accelerometer. He then realized "ah crap they're going to think I was trying to hide it." So what does he do? Pulls to 9G's yet again, forgetting about the fact that there's an accelerometer in the back seat and an in-flight recorder. Pretty sure he declared an IFE and got a chase ship after the ordeal. He later fessed up to it. Pretty sure they didn't kick him out. This next story was briliantly accomplished by one of my bro's. Back in contact when we were working on HAPL's and the like, the IP gave him a scenario in the area of "what would you do if your engine failed right now?" The stud calculated he was on profile for an ELP to X airfield. The problem was that as he had done in his EP sim the day prior, he actually shut the engine down, in accordance with the boldface, in the real airplane in the area. Realizing what he just did, he jammed the PCL (what we call our throttle) forward before the IP realized what had just happened and the engine caught before it wound down (no, that is not the boldface). The engine spooled back up and they set up for an ELP back here at Vance.
  15. 2. Congrats on your appointment. I personally couldn't have dealt with the whole "not partying and getting laid for four years" thing, hence I did not apply. I gotta say that I don't agree with the whole notion of an "Academy a-hole." Sort of makes it sounds like since you went to the zoo you're expected to be an a-hole. When I was at alcohol and sex basic course....err...ASBC ...I met plenty of a-holes from ROTC and OTS. I also met plenty of cool Academy dudes...
  16. I've had two backseat Viper rides here so far, 1 BFM and 1 CAS, and was told TO step on the seat when I get in...

    USAA

Go with Capital One for savings. They have the highest APY at 4.25%. I use USAA for checking, insurance, and have my wife's car loan. I've had 0 problems with USAA and 0 problems with Capital One. For investing I go through Fidelity and have 0 problems with them. [ 13. March 2006, 10:18: Message edited by: APT@Nellis ]
  18. My two cents is to do some research and max out your Roth IRA before TSP. For those that read financial magazines or are just up to snuff on investments, when was the last time you saw TSP make noteworthy returns? Never. There are plenty of mutual funds out there that beat the snot out of TSP. Additionally, though USAA is good for banking, insurance, and other stuff, there are FAR better companies to invest with. Personally, I have 2 different Fidelity mutual funds and they have done very well.
  19. If that turns out to be true, I wonder what the new euphemism would be for "snack-o"...
  20. I hear rumors that snacko is going to be an official AFSC.... I'd say possibly intel, ABM, or Nav. If I weren't going to pilot training or doing one of those three things, I'd definitely volunteer to get out under the new "early retirement" program they have going for Lt's like myself...
  21. Dammit, you're going to college, you should be worrying about who can hook you up with a 30 rack of shit-beer (you can progress to say Newcastle or Guiness senior year), no more of this worrying about getting your uniforms!
  22. Word on the street is 2 separate squadrons...
