  1. Can't provide a reg quote (because I'm too lazy to go digging for the info), but I seem to remember that a DOR would prevent you from getting another flying position in the ANG. Don't remember/know how a failure out of a program would affect you. Years ago, we had a guy come to us that had washed out of F-15s due to the inability to inflight refuel. Age could be an issue, but it appears that you have already completed a UPT type program with the Navy, is that correct? If that is the case, you might be ok to attend an FTU. I will let other more knowledgeable folks pick it up from here.
  2. See Infamous' post #139 in this thread
  3. We got ours last week. I am very pleased! The engraving on the back looks great!
  4. We buy the for $150 each. Will post who we get them from Monday when I get back to the office.
  5. My guess is a USMIL rep from the Embassy
  6. Looks like they fought it all of the way down.
  7. You checked their website? Requirements: · U.S Citizen · Under 40 years of age · Successfully complete a thorough background investigation and drug test · Pass a FAA class 1 flight physical · Hold a valid Commercial Pilots license with an Instrument rating and other rating(s) appropriate to the position to be filled · Total Flight Time 1500 hours ** · Pilot-In-Command (PIC) 250 hours · Night Flying 75 hours · Manned Flight Time, Last 12 Months 100 hours · Qualified Predator-B pilot (Predator-A qualification will be considered) * UAV/UAS time does not count towards flight hour minimums ** One half the total flight time may be waived My question is how are they going to handle any USAF/ANG MQ-9 guys that get out/retire? The sticking point will either be age or the manned flt hours requirement. I realize this is due to the fact that you are also qualified to fly manned aircraft. So, I wonder if there is going to be an RPA only position in the future? I am also a little interested since I am approaching retirement and the wife would like to move to FL when I do. Looks like they fly them out of Cocoa Beach and that would be ideal.
  8. How many Guard units have you been in?
  9. I know one in my squadron. Got the 767 right out of training.
  10. We can wear whatever PT clothes we would like.

  12. Very common view of police in FSU countries.
  13. The one "lookout" has a much heavier jacket on than anyone else in that photo. Makes me think of all the lessons and lectures about suicide bombers. Maybe that crowd was luckier than we could have imagined. I hope we get these shitheads soon!
  14. I don't see any issues in what you want to do. I was an enlisted flyer prior to commissioning. There is very little doubt that it helped me get the slot. I was called while working in Stan/Eval and interviewed on the spot. Found out later that day that I was selected. This is not typical. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
  15. Both guys in my squadron are 0-5's that got the waiver to surpass 28 yrs.
  16. I do not believe you can retire off AD and then draw a paycheck from the Reserves (will do a little research and get back to you). Is the full-time portion as an AGR? The 28 yrs rule also applies to the Reserves, but, as usual, a waiver can be granted if leadership feels they want you to hang around (we currently have 2 in my squadron, 1 full-time and 1 part-timer). I am sure there are other pitfalls, but cannot think of any off the top of my head. Edit: added AGR question
  17. Ya' think they might talk to another govt agency that has some experience in this.
  18. I always wear mine when flying, either mil or civ.
  19. I pretty much agree with both CH and M2. I met Rich in 2003 at Corpus and became a moderator for ANG/AFRC forum about a year later. I agree it is our job to keep discussions on topic, discussions in the proper place, and to provide expertise/knowledge/mentorship where possible. My biggest gripe is when individuals pipe up on topics they appear to have no knowledge on or, what seems like, to "hear themselves talk". What usually ends up happening is they either confuse the issue/original question or seriously derail the discussion. Our job as moderators is to prevent this when it happens. I believe what Rich created is still very viable and should carry on.
  20. Tell me brother! Former legacy herk guy, now RPA qualified guy. My reason was that my unit "transitioned" and I had to as well if I wanted to keep my job. Sure do miss the herk!!
