Hamas has an incredible ability to sacrifice its own people with efforts that hurt their cause. Yes this will harden their base, yes this will garner funding from sympathetic lunatics in the region but no this will not help them regain the land of Palestine. Standby for mass airstrikes in inside the Gaza strip that will likely kill hundreds of innocents now that the gloves are off. I would not be surprised by a ground action, a perfect wag the dog moment for Netanyahu and the hardliners trying to pass legislation that will weaken and minimize the influence of their Supreme Court.

The absolute LUNACY of the DNC base in this country. Hillary Clinton calls for 'formal deprogramming' of Trump 'cult' members “At some point maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” she said. “Something needs to happen."

Not sure where this post should be...border crisis or the hypocrisy thread...When the NYT is calling out a DNC administration, you know you done messed up A-Aron. U.S. Will Build Stretch of Border Wall and Begin Deportations to Venezuela

I think the age of the ring knockers is mostly dead...diminished for sure. I think I view it more as a stepping stone, he thinks the things they do are cool and he is flattered they reached out to him. He is a good athlete but is a nerd at heart. He was selected for the Experimental Science Robotics Team which placed second in the nation last year. FWIW I view MIT (and Stanford), as better than Ivy in the science and engineering world and I think most others do as well. Interestingly he got an email from Dartmouth today.

My boy wants to be a pilot (god help me), and trying to get some current information but I am obviously MANY years removed from the process. He has the grades and other resume items and we have been told he will likely get a nom to USAFA next year, obviously still has to be selected. He has a lot of schools chasing him including two Ivy league schools (MIT and Brown), which is where I would prefer he go but I don't want to selfish and want him to have the best chance at achieving his dream. I did ROTC and was the only dude in my class that got a UPT slot, the year prior they had six fall out slots and were literally walking down the hall asking the seniors if anyone wanted to go to UPT...probably a bad method as only one of the six graduated and got his wings. Looking at all the threads here I am tracking on the board process and items that will increase his score and chances. He is getting his PPL this summer at 16 and I will make sure he builds plenty of hours should he go to a University. Do USAFA grads compete at the Pilot selection boards? I ask because in the old days everyone who was medically qualified and graduated from USAFA went to UPT, is that still the case or does it change year to year. I recall two girls showing up for UPT a few months after I started, both were USAFA grads and were FORCED to got to UPT, they both SIE's after a month. I also know of a high profile USAFA athlete that had to go see the three star to plead his case NOT to go to UPT. Appreciate any info so I can help him make the best choice.

John Kelly goes on the record about his time with Trump
ClearedHot replied to Carnivore's topic in General Discussion
Oh they get it, trust me...they really get it. They know the other issues and the price that will be paid but this was THE issue and it was worth if it is "saves millions of innocent lives." I've been fairly vocal on my position, despite a deep faith and coming from strong Irish Catholic background (I have two aunts that are nuns), I am pro choice and think dogmatic dedication to this third rail issue deals a serious blow to GOP chances in the next election (as realized in the mid-terms). Punchline, the base on both sides is F'd up! As for Gaetz, what a clown, when just 8 members of the house can completely derail our ability to govern...complete chaos. Gaetz has a vendetta against McCarthy and if anyone thinks a more hardcore GOP Speaker is going to for the DNC to make concessions when they own both the Senate and the White House...you are smoking crack. This is the type of divide the framers planned for, it was meant to drive discussion, debate and compromise. If both side were unhappy with the deal then it was probably a good deal. As for the DNC, what complete and utter hypocrisy. They constantly scream about the danger of MAGA Republicans then they turn around and unanimously side with those same MAGA douchebags to unseat the Speaker, especially after Nancy promised they wouldn't and all for political gain at the cost of dysfunction and chaos in our governance. I am sure there will be DNC apologists on here but my god man, hang your heads in absolute shame. -
John Kelly goes on the record about his time with Trump

Two VERY simple reasons: 1. Forgiveness and being flawed is at the very heart of the gospel and Christianity. Colossians 3:13 states, “Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” We were born sinners against God, but He loved us enough to send Christ, His Son to die for us. 2. Thanks to DJT, Roe V Wade was reversed. Thanks to number 2, I think he is on an evangelical pedestal and as captured in his own words... 'I Could ... Shoot Somebody, And I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters' -

Concur, his popularity only grows. We need an off ramp, but it appears nothing short of a conviction AND jail time will remove him from the field of play...even then he might still be elected, pardon himself and continue the dysfunction. -

I remember a staff meeting on the third floor of the AFSOC/HQ, the then AFSOC/CC was openly bashing CAA and the 6th SOS. I am paraphrasing but he kept saying "tell me one time when this program got me access to a country".

All week long in my area we heard the chant of Gator fans proclaiming they are back and they are going to crush Kentucky in this grudge match. I must say it was enjoyable watching Kentucky RUN the Gators. What up with Coach Prime and clock management...they came roaring back and burned six minutes off the clock with horrific play calling. No time outs so you run the ball up the middle 4 times...unreal. Also nice to see Brian Kelly and LSU get popped int he nose by Ole Miss...Hotty Totty! Finally, Michigan pummeled poor Nebraska, anyone remember the last time the Huskers were good/relevant...yeah me either.

I was there for a long time, a few of the Commandants included Bert Field, Baba Rand, CQ and K9.
-
DAYUM...next Huggy will be measuring socks at the DFAC.
-
Ever worked with him? I was NOT impressed.
-
Because it is Michigan...bias just like for the SEC teams. While we are the subject of bias, all this BS love for the Irish came crashing down. They were so Tumbleweed they played the last two (and most important downs), of the game with only 10 players.

I never talked to CQ, don't really care for him after having served under him as the WIC Commandant. I don't think Kelly fit the model you outlined above...I know Sparky, Francis and Baba didn't. Scorpions CERTAINLY enabled integration...you've never seen the set up. Maybe I am a dinosaur, if you prefer a sim over being in the air have at it. Sim (especially the new ones), always have a place, but I will always choose to be in the air.

I hear what you are saying, your big bosses felt differently. For the record I can see some of argument around the AT-6, the project I worked on did it with the Scorpion Jet flying in the low 40's at 400+ knots.

@brabus I think you are looking at this as just a plain Jane T-6. ACC has been approach multiple times about dropping a MOSA avionics and mission setup in the T-6. These systems would look and feel like you are operating an F-22 or F-35. While the speeds and altitudes would be different you could for a fraction of the cost build muscle memory touch skills for employment while airborne at a fraction of the cost. Think of it as 90% of the sim in an actual airplane so you are building Airmanship, SA, and buttonology while actually flying. Finish the stortie with a few approaches to a real runway, dealing with real winds and weather and real comms buffoonery. There is a LOT of value to be had if you step back and look at the possibilities rather than the limitations.

Obviously you can't trust the casualty claims form either side but there is some rather stunning and sobering data that can be extrapolated from Russian compensation spending. Russia has spent $25.6 billion on compensation to families of deceased soldiers and $21 billion on compensation to the wounded. Putin has previously signed a decree earlier in the year ordering the payout of $68,800 to the families of deceased and $41,300 to soldiers that are wounded. Using this we can get a glance at potential Russian casualties...assuming zero corruption and money laundering. KIA: 372,093 WIA: 508,474 Total Casualties: 880,567 That’s in 18 months. The US lost 420,000 in 4 years of WWII. Very sobering.
