Early today Ukraine Special Forces working with FPV drones launched a massive attack on the Russian Air Force. Early reports indicate as many as 40 Russian bombers have been hit, many of them TU95s. I always sigh when I hear Jan 6th. The day was 1000% WRONG but as you very correctly point out it was not an insurrection. I get the dictionary definition but I have always viewed an insurrection as trying to overthrow the government, QAnon Shaman with his headdress and American flag were never a threat to our government, no one tried to seize power. I take both sides with a giant grain of salt but clearly with the Biden Administration in control in charge of the Justice Department we never got all the answers about what really happened and I think we the American people DESERVE to know the truth. I still have a lot of questions about the actions of the FBI, several agents and numerous confidential informants. Will Kash Patel get to the truth without bias remains to be seen but there are some KEY facts that are known to be true As matters of fact from the Jan 6th report - there were a total of 26 confidential human sources in the crowd outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but only four of them were assigned by the FBI to be there. One of the four confidential human sources tasked by the FBI to attend the rally entered the Capitol building, while the other two entered the restricted area around the Capitol. Did they play a part in inciting the acts that happened? It was a dark day for our country and I hope it never happens again, one of the best was to prevent another occurrence is to FULLY understand the truth about what happened.

I don't hate cops, my brother is a cop, but cases like this clearly demonstrate why qualified immunity needs to end or at a minimum be seriously modified. Several layers to this case and the one that disturbs me the most is what happened while in custody. They supervisor running the detention facility tells him if he doesn't shut up he is going to get punched in the face...he says it several times AND tells the guy we have cameras and audio. Qualified immunity was invoked and approved by both the lower level federal court and the circuit...thank god SCOTUS stepped in.

Come on brother...you are smart and there are better ways to make an actual point about economic policy. Think critically...this is a FAR more complicated issue than Communist price control. This is more about trade and ending a sweet heart deal the Pharmaceutical industry has had for FAR too long. It is not a free market when the rest of the world limits the price and the only "free" market is in the U.S. The United States represents 4% of the world's population but we generate 66% of the profit in the pharmaceutical industry. The high price of new drugs has always been falsely explained as the cost of research...true or not it is now time for the rest of the world to share in that development cost.

With regard to oil futures, it is NOT just about refined gas but for some reason that is what people lock on to, I guess because they see it on the pump everytime they fill up. I am sure you know oil still powers our economy and as the price of crude so does all of the cost associate with producing and transporting goods. Also, energy costs are always in lag and will likely show next quarter. The beginnings showed in March as core inflation decreased. With regard to currency and our reckoning, we need another thread but yes turbulent times ahead. Tariffs...I applaud what Trump has done, as long as it remains part of bargaining. The imbalance of tariffs against the U.S. and our industry is staggering and we turned a blind eye for so long it became the norm. I do not believe the Tariff talk was anything more than bargaining bluster which is standard for Trump and luckily in this case we have the upper hand on the Chinese which is the key to all of the other deals. As far as other policies...in my other post I referenced Trump's willingness to raise taxes on the wealthy...we all know that is very symbolic unless they substantially change the laws on trusts and borrowing against wealth to avoid taxes (trust me I personally benefit from it). What is more important is he said it out loud...again, a Republican President said it out loud. There is symbology here and while it might not make it through the house, it stymies the DNC argument. He is also supposed to sign an executive order today that limits prescription drug prices...pharmaceutical donors to the GOP are not happy today.
