  1. I’ve been told I’m getting Zero days when I’m done with the FTU. Apparently it’s not just my unit.
  2. Bump. Heading to Little Rock next year for the H course TDY. This seems to be the most current gouge. I’m a married guy going solo. Don’t need to be close to bars but would like to be near good restaurants and not in the hood. Looking for recommendations.
  3. Mine got approved in 40ish days. I applied in March 2020 when everyone got wet feet. I asked for six months off. Most likely it’ll be fast for you too, there’s a reason why the bonus this year isn’t as good as last years, people aren’t getting out as much. They were getting out in droves before March. I had a “intent to hire letter”. My In Service Recruiter (ISR) recommended I didn’t submit without it. I too was anxious like you and had been tracking my ADSC 2 years out. Get that letter and then submit your package. Something you could do now is to have an initial talk with the ISR and have them explain the process and then do all the paperwork so you can press the button when your hired. I had my paperwork squared away and then submitted a week after I got hired. If you look back a few posts you can see how quick mine went through all the AFPC offices. 4. That car is the equivalent of $102k. Doesn’t help your argument. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome to being treated second class. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. O-Club traditions are live and well at Pensacola. Any guy/gal who went through there in the past 15 years has fond memories of that place. Their bartender’s nickname is “Cougar” for several obvious reasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Vietnam vets would come out of retirement for another night on the town if U-Tapao were to let Americans back in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My favorite parking spot is at NAS Pensacola’s O-Club. Sign reads “Any ENSIGN or 2d Lt”. Best part is it’s right next to the commander of the Blue Angels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. https://info.lululemon.com/help/military-military-spouses-and-first-responders Lululemon offers a 25% discount in person. I personally am a fan of their shorts and the lifetime warranty for repairs. A friend of mine has gotten his running shorts repaired twice over the years for free. They offered to give him new shorts but he’s trying to prove a point since we have given him a hard time for spending so much on running shorts. I know many of you have significant others who have a pair of yoga pants from this store. Don’t let them spend that $100 on them anymore, go get that sweet discount. 10. It’s easy to listen to Jordan Peterson because he is an excellent communicator. He rarely ever raises his tone. I appreciate anyone’s opinion when they can intelligently communicate their opinion without sarcasm or having to raise their voice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'm a dependo under my wife and a TG. Correct me if I'm wrong, when I'm not on orders receiving BAH my wife is eligible for the dependent BAH? My wife was told by finance they see me as ANG in DEERS instead of being listed as a dependent. Anyone have similar experience with this, curious if we will have to make frequent trips to finance once I do go on/off orders.
  12. Would love to see what the recent drops have been. There’s got to be some UCSO/ICSO people on here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Well I would say Ed Snowden is a traitor but I’m glad to know the truth about the US spying on our own citizens. I’m also happy to see Tulsi fight for our basic constitutional rights. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Couldn’t agree more. Point is some people only view him as a traitor and lose sight of what he leaked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Say what you want about Ed Snowden. What he revealed about surveillance programs against the US is unconstitutional. I stand behind Tulsi on this. Great to see this become a bipartisan bill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Makes sense. Do you have personal experience with this? I'm interested in getting this done relatively soon. On active duty I worked with the base Optometrist in conjunction with flight med to get the paperwork routed. I'm assuming my DSG flight surgeon is my focal point. I shot him an email we shall see if he gets back to me prior to our next drill.
  17. I was scheduled to get PRK at Keesler AFB in March before COVID came and wrecked those plans. I'm now out of active duty on terminal leave and will be a Traditional Guardsman here in two weeks. I'm interested in getting eye surgery (I'm aware I have to pay for it since I'm no longer AD). What's the process like in the Guard? I'm interested in getting this surgery done prior to going to the FTU. Do I need permission from the CC and the Flight Surgeon?
  18. Such a cliché and non-sensical thing to say. Denigrates the intelligence and respect of us card carrying Republicans. Yes it’s dumb what they’re doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I don’t want you to be too worried about who is at UPT as a second assignment. Many dudes came to UPT without being asked due to the shortage of instructors and an excess of dudes in their former airframe. Point was why would there be so many dudes from “insert airframe” at UPT willingly after only flying it operationally for 3-4 years. Are they burnt out, taking a knee for their family via AETC? That’s what I was getting at. Learn about as many airframes as possible because at the end of the day it’s up to Big Blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Unless you have Silver Wings and not the dorky cheap $14 wings from AAFES. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Here is what you should be asking your IP’s. Where do you deploy too, how often did you deploy, what bases can you go too. I had a crusty Iron Major as an instructor once tell me to look around the school house and ask the junior captains why they were at a training base so early on in their career. Many people don’t want to leave their op squadrons after their first tour. That should tell you something about their community. As a pilot on the RC-135 variants, there is not a whole lot of vault time in terms of you having your head in the books. Many aircraft besides the pointy nosed ones do their crew briefs in a vault to bring the discussion up to a Secret/Top Secret discussion. The RC-135 takes you to Gucci places such as: Okinawa, Alaska, England, Greece, Diego Garcia. You’ll make a bunch of money because you will be sitting alert at most of these places earning North of $100 per day. Their worst deployment location is Al Udeid in Qatar. This is not a bad location at all despite what you read on here. You will work with a large crew of officers and enlisted who are the ones doing the mission. You will essentially be a bus driver, but that’s not a bad thing. The RC-135 of all variants is a highly requested and useful airframe. If you go to an RC-135 variant you can expect to spend most of your career at Offutt AFB in Omaha Nebraska. You’ll have the opportunity to fly other airframes in the iron-triad (E-3, E-8, RC-135) if you so desire. Of those airframes, the RC-135 has the nicest cockpit, deployed locations, and gets the most money from the government. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’m of the mindset that it is ridiculous to make anything that grows from the Earth naturally illegal. Refining that product into something harmful is another thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. For those of you that do the long commute. What do you do for lodging and transportation? I’m eventually moving to my unit but until I do I have to fly to get there. Do y’all rent a room from a buddy and have a commuter car there? I’m considering doing just that until I move. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I think many Women’s uniforms could be revamped. My wife despises half the uniforms she wears. The OCP & ABU pants leave a mark around her waist belly button level. Ask any women how much they love their mess dress lol. I’m lucky enough that I get to wear a belt-less uniform aka The Bag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
