  1. Hello again Baseops Users, I've added a few new prints and restocks to my Etsy shop focusing on high quality, technically accurate pencil drawings of modern fighters. I've also reinstated the special 20% discount code I offered over Christmas for Baseops members indefinitely. I'm planning on attending some airshows on the West Coast later this year (such as DM) so I hope to see some of you there. The coupon will apply in-person as well. Lots more prints coming this year including a Viper, Legacy Hornet, T-38, and even a BMW for you car people. https://www.etsy.com/shop/redwolfillustrations?coupon=BASEOPSDOTNET

  2. Apply now for the waiver. Should be fairly simple and approved. Worse case, transfer to AFR/ANG billet and do nothing for 6 mos and retire with 3 yrs TIG - don’t retire as a major

  3. https://www.rt.com/usa/521381-maxine-waters-brooklyn-center-curfew/ Maxine Waters shows up in MN encouraging people to be more confrontational. Of course the message to people can’t be to not commit aggravated robbery, not to break the terms of your release by being in possession of a weapon or to not flee while the police are lawfully arresting you. Nope. Can’t say any of that.

  5. Does anyone know how TSP works when you transition to the Reserves? I was under the impression I would still be able to contribute to the account that was created when I joined active duty. I’m transitioning to an IMA gig and already separated from AD, but the reserve Det I’m supposed to in-process into is dragging its feet on getting me gained into the unit (already learning the true meaning of IMA; I am alone). Since I’ve just been sitting in the IRR in the meantime, the TSP thinks I have separated from federal service and sent me a little packet saying so. My question is, once I am gained into the reserves can I reactivate that account and make contributions to it? The TSP packet I was sent, as well as the TSP website, aren’t very clear on that. I’d hate to have to start a whole new TSP account when I already have one with a healthy balance.

  7. Probably? What military are you in? Your interactions with flightline SF are regularly negative to the point that you think most are only *probably* decent people? Perspective takes effort. It's very easy use negative anecdotes to characterize entire systems in direct conflict with reality. We're seeing that with Americans' perception of policing now. But if an educated officer will let one stupid interaction that only impacted a training sortie drive his perception to the "probably" standard, what hope does the rest of America have when the news is now completely saturated with carefully filtered anecdotal cases of police malfeasance?

  8. I picked up both 0-4 and O-5 APZ, so there is definitely a chance to still get selected. That said, both times I had outside opportunities lined up in the event I had gotten passed over twice. There’s always a chance to keep going but make sure you have a plan B.

  9. Have a friend who got passed over for Major, separated, joined the Guard, got promoted to Major, flies for an airline. Got married, now has two kids. I say it worked out for him.
