  3. This. We can't keep pilots for O-4 money + a $225k bonus, I cannot understand how we expect to keep them for E-4 money. If we had any sense, we'd hand over the bulk of the RPA enterprise to contractors and keep a skeleton crew of designated hitters to take the shots.

  4. Its CNC plasma; I occasionally get some access to a laser as well. Definitely looking into more options to improve the products graphically. On a side note, you guys might like this:

  5. They keep pitching this as a fix for retention problems. They can't keep an enlisted sensor operator on AD to save their life, but they can't see that somehow it will likely be the same.

  6. Obviously e's could do the job, however I think attrition rates skyrocket leading to wasted money on those studs who couldn't make it through doss/riq. Being a prior-e I knew many sharp amn/ncos who could easily make it through the program, conversely I knew many more mouth breathers who would be just as eager to volunteer and sand bag the program as a whole. You have to draw the line in the sand somewhere to separate those who can or can't.

  8. Okay, I re-read that particular sentence and I agree that Chang meant Sq/CC EA jobs and not Sq/CC jobs. Since these jobs are open to O-4s, you are essentially sending the message that you better get your Masters knocked out early to be competitive for one of these "opportunities." And this takes us right back to the pre-Gen Welsh days. It makes sense for an IPZ O-5 applicant to complete the AAD beforehand but not for an O-4 applicant. And if you are a Major who gets selected to be a GO Exec, you are more than likely to get a school slot later and a Master's along with it. So this is really not an issue, unless you just wanted to see how devoted someone is to climbing the career ladder.

  9. Wouldn't mind reading up on some of those stories if you're willing to share them.

  10. Good critical thinking Chang. Requiring CGOs to have masters degrees for advancement never had second order effects before. Should be fine this time too. Kind of standard for A1 though - can't think more than 1 assignment cycle down the line.

  12. Zero pitfalls. You should do it. No one will complain. No one will deploy. Everyone will get along. No one will move in their GFs. Everyone will clean up. Everyone will be responsible with the bills and control their pay per view habits. No one will break things. No one will have weird or destructive pets. No one will PCS without having someone else take over their share. You will always rent out the spare rooms to nice, responsible people and the rooms will always be full. No one will go bankrupt. Nope, never. Out

  13. You guys are right.... That type in a four engine Boeing heavy is terrible. Oak City is a terrible shithole to live on, and I would hate for my three MDS PCS options to be Alaska, Japan, and Germany. You got me.

  15. Makes sense, if you think about it. People seeking out these jobs voluntarily are looking to put themselves on a trajectory toward Colonel. If they don't already have their Master's degree complete as a Major (and especially Lt Col), the person volunteering for this job is likely to be working on one in the very near future. The GO for whom he/she will be working wants your undivided attention/no distractions (like Master's degrees) for the 1-2 years the exec asst is in the job. These are not run-of-the-mill Sq/CC or even Wg/CC EA jobs. You guys really needs to open the aperture of your minds a little bit before you come onto his forum and spew about stuff. Critical thinking is appreciated.
