Just to save everyone from having to go on Instagram...

There was a time when actual assimilation was demanded. It would not work out well for an immigrant who didn’t fully assimilate. Fast forward to today when all the soft, ignorant people practically advocate for the exact opposite. Personally, I think there’s a balance between the Ellis Island heyday and current day. That balance is something like you don’t have to change your name, completely erase your heritage, forget your native language, etc. But, you must assimilate to western values and way of life, as well as abide by our laws. We also should not be bending over backwards to placate to what “you” came from. If you don’t like learning English and adapting to American society, then GTFO and go back to wherever you came from.

Nothing new, when I arrived at my first assignment over 40 years ago, the SP squadron had been nearly wiped out by an unannounced piss test!

We had SF on base get busted for stealing from snacko cash boxes of various section on base. Another one was busted for breaking the lug nuts on another guys jeep because of a love triangle. "Cops...biggest, legal street gang around." This is quote by a squadron mate who was a former cop.

You never know with SF. Just before I got to Cannon OSI made a major bust and rolled up like 50 people, many of them were base cops, apparently if you wanted drugs on base you just went to the flightline to buy if from the cops.

It would be tough dealing with all of those 18-25 yo cops. Im thankful I wasn't a Security Forces or MX officer. That's a different way of life.
