  1. Tell Mrs. Kind I'll be back on Thursday rather than Wednesday for my weekly visit! Scheduling conflicts, I'm sure she'll understand.

  2. <br /><br />He should have dyed his hair & prepared a story about kidnapping & running a marathon across the central Asian steppes to escape his captors. That tale has a really good track record so far.

  5. This whole thing is stupid. If this is the case they should just say to TERA eligible folks that they have the option to apply, but if they don't meet their "quota" some may possibly be forced to retire… not this basic threat to take TERA now or never. They also need to come out and say if you apply for TERA then you WILL get it… not this apply and we'll let you know shit! A whole lot of people in this eligibility group were part of the last VSP debacle and some wondering if they would get the boot like the poor 157 non-continued guys. This isn't some fucking gameshow where you get to take your chances with what's behind door #2… these are people's lives here; and if we're talking TERA then we are talking about the lives of people who have served every minute of these 12+ years of war! Gameshow… its more like a fucking Clown show!!! Rant complete...

  7. This article is a classic case of this: Michael Crichton once mentioned something called the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. "Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows; you open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murrays case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backwardreversing cause and effect. I call these the 'wet streets cause rain' stories. Papers full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know."

  8. +1 on Lone Survivor. Read the book, saw the movie yesterday. Worth watching on the big screen.

  11. I've been to Grey's and they definitely have nice stuff...and it's all at a very 'nice' <caugh caugh> price. Lets just say that I know someone who personally knows these guys and I was told that they market to wealthy people in Destin. I'm assuming that goes for their online sales as well. As for spending $1K on an AK--do you want a 47 or a 74? I'm personally a bigger fan of the 74. Like M2 said, it's hard to go wrong with an Arsenal...their other company (called the FIME Group) are built on the Russian Saiga stamped receivers which are quality. If you want to shell out a few hundred more, look into a Krebs as they make some of the best. I think the best value AK are the Waffen Werks AK-74's. You can get one as cheap as $600 on classicfirearms.com and then buy some nicer furniture to your liking. Or just pay a little more and get one of their nicer ones.

  13. The use of airborne isr assets in AFG is an absolute abomination of the potential capabilities because the army controls it. That abortion should be evidence enough that the Air Force should remain its own arm. And while I'm at it, if centcom could go ahead and give us the ability to allocate our air assets again, that'd be great.

  14. Eligible and applying. Bet your ass if the AF denies me and then tries to RIF me I'll be lawyering up while contacting multiple congressmen. All of this doubt & morale/productivity crushing could be avoided with some clear guidance. UFB.

  15. How does he sound entitled? He asked if it was against the regs and/or how folks who have done it did it. He never said he should be able to do whatever he wants. It's people like you that provide no value to this forum, and probably the Air Force, if all you do is wander around saying no one should ask questions and you're better than everyone else because you've been around longer. No offense to you, just a common thing I see around here and I'm tired of it.

  17. Thanks M2!!! Thanks helodude. I'm thinking 47 but I will definitely look into the 74s. I'll check into the Krebs as well. Now I just got to go launder some money from the wife!

  19. Oh, no doubt. Sucking up to a drug dealer can be helpful too, if you need a few Gs on the side or perhaps an ex knocked off. Doesn't make it right, and it doesn't change the company you keep, or your actions around them. What you call "networking." But I understand for a guy like you, it's a skill in your vocabulary to slob and suck. For a guy like you. As for me, the only way WalMart would enter this equation between you and myself, is if I bought the company, you applied for a job, and I told you "not just no, but hell no." Followed by, "We don't hire ass kissing politician-wannabes without principle at WalMart. I know you're used to doing that in one uniform, but it won't be the WalMart uniform."
