The SQ/CC pulled aside the mayor last week and told him to pass along the WG/CC imposed ROE on songs, stories, and things that would be uttered in the squadron bar. We are to no longer sing songs that have 'girlie bits'. NSTFS - we can no longer preface our songs with "How does every good fighter pilot song start?" I can no longer sing to the world that I love my wife, yes I do, yes I do. Any stories that are told must conform to the same standards. Two Airmen killed in IED explosion 1/23/2006 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- Two Airmen from the 586th Expeditionary Mission Support Group were killed, and one Airman was injured, by an improvised explosive device while on convoy escort duties near Taji, Iraq, Jan. 22. Hi folks - So, this might sound a bit strange, but my recruiter *really* wants me to apply into the Bioenvironmental Engineering (BEE) program in the AF in addition to OTS (for pilot). I have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and he said my background doesn't matter - bioenvironmental vs electrical. I've search here and on Google, but can't seem to find anything on the BEE program except that you get commissioned as a Captain and have 4 weeks of initial training instead of 12 in the OTS. The big question that I cannot find the answer to is - if I sign up for BEE, will I then be able to apply for UPT once I'm already in the AF? Or said another way…

I ran across this item in an article in the paper regarding expositng and prosecuting fake SEALs and special operators: Some of you might remember someone named 'Princess' who was posting on another website that she was an F-16 pilot back in 2003. I heard that there is/was a Moody pilot with 1000+ hours in the T-38A, 1000+ in the AT-38B, and is getting close to 1000 hours in the T-38C. True statement? Also, other than this Moody pilot, is there anyone currently flying the T-38 for the USAF with over 3000 hours in the Talon?

Warning Rambling Story Switch: On Ok so I'm flying my check ride the other day and I'm in the middle of circling to land and the Evaluator asks me, as I'm maneuvering, "what's the obstruction clearance limit for this type aircraft?" I'll make no excuses, I blurted out 1.5 miles, unfortunately I was flying a Cat C aircraft that day (and every other day I fly for that matter) so I f'ed that one up. D'oh! Does anyone know if AMS is excluded from participation at JMAC? Also, can anyone offer a reason why I shouldn't compete at JMAC if given the opportunity (i.e. perhaps OTs that compete have to play catch-up when they return)? I'm assuming it's a positive experience.

I am sure there is a post on this somewhere, but does it take to become an Aggressor Pilot? That sounds like a neat job. Do you apply after you have flown say an F-16 for a few years or after your an IP, or even have a high amount of combat hours? How competitive is that? Id imagine it would be almost as hard as making the Thunderbirds..am I wrong? Im bored, so thought I would ask so it gave me something to do. Yeah guess you could say Spring Break sucks in pittsburgh..lol id almost rather be in school. Anybody know if a student pilot in UPT, while on leave away from training, can pilot a civilian aircraft? In what regs would something like this be? I've heard it can go both ways, so I'm not too sure. I've got some Christmas leave coming up and have really been looking forward to taking some friends on a ride in the 'other' cessna type. ...So... am I allowed?

This is a question I've always had: I know a guy who is a retired Air Force pilot. He has his old helmet (complete with oxygen mask) on display in his office. Does the Air Force typically allow you to keep your helmet or at least let you buy it or is this not done anymore?
