Depends on model and dealer, but 25-50%. It’s a no brainer to buy through blue label. Related note, a lot of shade is thrown at Glock for being “sub par” because owners upgrade a lot of the parts. But, even when I have chosen to do such a thing, my end result is still cheaper than the other guy’s factory gun, and matches, or out performs, its capability. That said, I think the gen 5 barrels are pretty solid and really just the trigger is what needs to be replaced. Meh money spent, especially when you get the gun via blue label.
  2. I’d be so proud of whoever did it.
  3. For some reason, @Biff_T was the first suspect name that came to mind.
  4. Those are rookie numbers!
  5. AGR-20 has been one of the best weapons we’ve produced in a long time.
  6. - I’ll give them one thing before I bash them: current day tech is insanely more complicated than the 1940s. Our manufacturing advances are awesome, but somewhat “nullified” by how complicated our products are. So to even match 1940s manufacturing rates of current day tech is a pipe dream. - Industry is very bureaucratic and moves slower than molasses. They suffer the same bloat as the gov. They would have to fire thousands of middle managers to start to even have a chance at actual efficiency. They would have to substantially overhaul their processes, from R&D to production. They would need to shelve a lot of attorneys - litigation and legalese adds years to the overall process. Basically, imagine how badly the fed gov needs to be gutted and apply the same level to industry. Example: there is a thing that I was working on in 2015 - it’s nearly 2026 and it’s still a thing, but it’s still not in production. 11 years, still nothing operational to show for it. And it’s a very important, needed thing. I’ve got many examples just like this one; this type of situation happens routinely - a “straighten up guys!” from the gov will not fix that malaise. We’re basically at a burn it all to the ground and rebuild state. - The C-suite down to middle management are driven solely by profit; there is no patriotism involved. This mindset is woven deep into everything the company does, including slimy contracting tactics that the fed gov seems too stupid to ever see. They’re not willing to lift a finger on a fix to their fuck up until max, additional profit is extracted. Contracts and processes are purposely dragged out to max profit (e.g. they know problems will arise from X, but they will purposely let it happen so they can achieve the aforementioned). It is criminal negligence at some points in my opinion; they’re basically stealing taxpayer dollars and not doing what they’re paid to do. The “worker bees” are patriots, they just don’t have any say. Could these upper guys be shaken awake and become patriots over profit? Sure, hopefully - but it is this problem that has built the monolithic beast they now have. It will take years to undo, and they’ll be the proverbial “a day late and a dollar short.” - There are smaller, more agile companies (subs) that are decent at what they do, but they cannot overcome the above that the primes have. They don’t have the capital, size, etc. to be the solution. Those are the highlights.
  7. Zero chance. If you get enough time in/around industry, you’ll understand.
  8. Not a lot. The simple problem is we’ve let “perfect” become the enemy of good (and industry is greedy as fuck and doesn’t give a shit about the country). The days of pumping out war materiel like WW2 will never return.
  9. You know you’re going to have a great time when you have to hand prop!
  10. My guess is Israel will not follow the historical US path, which is leave/stop conducting kinetic ops in place X, allowing the vacuum of “peace” to fill right back in with whatever terrorist orgs were there previously. If they do follow suit, then give it a couple years and Hamas will be right back to a meaningful force strength. The peace deal is historic, but it’s naive to think any peace deal made with Islamic terrorists is going to last. My bet is Israel realizes that and will act accordingly.
  11. Boeing brought in @HuggyU2 to test out the new cockpit entry system…
  12. Which is a 100% guarantee not going to happen. I’m honestly surprised Israel didn’t go to 100% destruction/expulsion and take every square inch of Gaza land.
  13. Amongst us non-politicians, it’s not partisan. Polls show the vast majority of Americans, independent of party affiliation, want all of it released. Now what some of the politicians do may be different. So it’s more accurate in this specific case to say political/elite class rot, not simply societal rot.
  14. She’s a big disappointment. Not having federal experience may or may not be the primary CF, but regardless, Trump would be smart to fire her and put someone else in. I have no SA on what the bench looks like, I just know she’s been very underwhelming.
  15. Dallas is better than Chicago by a solid amount (though still a large city with crime). But I think you are bringing up a valid point: there are other contributing factors to crime rate than the political leaning of the local gov. However, it’s still worth noting something like 2A rights and associated laws in cities is very much linked to who’s running the place.
  16. @Day Man Memphis is a blue city with a Democrat mayor (and has the NG on the way). Try again.
  17. For sure, I’ve been there with nit picking my own tapes and seeing others get nitpicked. Also have seen people get sent home. In zero of those cases did someone go to jail, have any lasting career effects, or not end up coming back (whether to rejoin same deployment or on a subsequent deployment). My point is do what’s right/what needs to be done, have zero thoughts about what “the man” may nitpick later. Failure to execute when called for because of CYA thoughts is unacceptable.
  18. I have no problem with any bad city seeing intervention, regardless of local/state gov’s predominant party affiliation. That said, are there GOP led cities that should be prioritized over places like DC, Chicago, Portland, pick a city in CA, NYC, etc? I’m not implying there aren’t GOP-led cities with crime issues, but so far, has the priority been invalid?
  19. This is a great example of why you just do what’s right. There were always rumors of JAG witch hunts, etc…and while I’ve dealt with some of those guys, to this day I’ve never met an aircrew member, SOF dude, etc. who did the right thing and ended up in jail. It’s all hyped up BS, minus maybe some total outlier that happened at some point.
  20. No problem with it. US citizens in these cities have been abandoned by their city and in some cases, state, government. Their local govs have been heavily siding with/supporting criminals and their actions while willfully putting innocent citizen’s livelihood, and lives, at unacceptable risk. At some point (such as right now) the fed gov has a duty to step in to defend them. It’s incredibly sad portions of our country have come to this point, but the answer is not to just ignore it and say WGAF because you (the royal you) don’t live there.
  21. My problem with Massie and Paul is they love to pontificate on libertarian utopia while completely ignoring the real world. Their minds live in a fantasy (like all “full” libertarians), and therefore they are roadblocks much of the time to REALISTIC results because they only will accept UNREALISTIC results. So, instead of accomplishing anything, they just run their mouths and generally get in the way. Ergo, hot air.
  22. I’m not a big Mike Johnson fan, so maybe there is some truth to it. But also Massie is like MTG - blows lots of hot air, so I’ll take anything people like them say with a large grain of salt.

@Lord Ratner So basically, let it rip! What mags do you use/where’d you get them?

Anyone have a Universal M1 carbine? I picked one up, took it apart and it seems fine (e.g. safe to shoot). I wanted to see if anyone has experience with one (things to look for, gotchas, etc.)
