The Next President is...
@slackline I believe you believe that wild bullshit. Critical thinking indeed. Pro tip, when you consistently consume negative, bullshit information, your brain will transition to thinking that way no matter what. Help yourself by putting down the AOC gummies and focus on all the good things in your life, this country, and the world. You’ll be much happier for it.

@Day Man Great clip. Textbook example of putting ego aside and updating viewpoints when new information is presented/previous information is invalidated. Also textbook example of being man enough to admit when you’re wrong and moving forward. Hope everyone took a good lesson learned out of that self-debrief! I’m sure you did…- Gun Talk
Thanks a lot @Lord Ratner , now I have to buy another gun and a FRT. My wife might kill me after the last 12 months of gun-related purchases - worth the risk.- Gun Talk

Yeah, I agree with him the radical left is a massive threat. They’ve proven it time and time again at all levels of society - why are you silent on it? By the way, two things can be true; you can ancknowledge all of this while also not liking Trump or his policies.- The new airline thread
I wonder how much a type really helps you in landing an airline job. The airline is going to make you go through their entire training program regardless of having a type rating. So, it’s no cost savings to them. It does show you can make it through a training program, but that point is already proven by one’s military career (where training programs are a 1,000 times harder than anything the airlines do).- The Next President is...
Well when the dems and their far left followers are constantly inundated with propaganda and rhetoric that dehumanizes (or outright calls for violence against) anyone seen as a political opponent, this is what we will continue to get. I wish those who are otherwise rational humans would see this and stop supporting the cult.- The Iran thread
Yes, Trump mentioned the 2001 AUMF. And frankly, the 2001 AUMF does support the current war. In fact, Biden also invoked it to target Iranian groups. I’m not defending the 2001 AUMF, but it is very widely applicable. For those who want the War Powers Act to actually matter again for many potential conflicts, they’ll have to kill the 2001 AUMF.- Trump's Cabinet
What are we arguing about here? The fact a president cans/blocks people who don’t align with his plans/policies? Welcome to every administration ever.- The Iran thread

3 parts to the D party: That part, this part: “East Village residents who voted for New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani by a 40-point margin are now suing to stop a building in their neighborhood from becoming a temporary homeless shelter.” I hope they lose their lawsuit. The last part: otherwise generally reasonable people who are still holding on because they want the 90s Dems, but haven’t admitted to themselves the current Dems are so far off the deep end, that the only rational response is jump ship and do something different.- Venezuela and Narco Boats
What a dumbass - how could he possibly think he wouldn’t get caught.- ANG Fighters
I don’t know your wing, so I’ll just have to take their words at face value. That’s a dumb way to operate in my opinion, but doesn’t mean it’s not a thing.- The Iran thread

We should be - continue to destroy the IRGC. They are basically a terrorist organization with a lot more money, materiel, and organization than others. They only speak death and destruction; diplomacy is a non-starter. Continue diplomatic discussions with the more moderate civilian govt while specifically targeting IRGC.- ANG Fighters
The only actionable thing I can suggest is attempt to get more specific feedback from a pilot on the hiring board. Doesn’t have to be the board lead, just one of them who was there. If it’s age-related, I would think they’d say that outright. If it wasn’t for age reasons, then it could be: 1) You just don’t personally mesh with them/some specific people who have a lot of sway in the squadron 2) They already had their “winners” picked and nobody, including you, was going to change their minds Those two hypotheticals are potential reasons - not saying one or both are the situation, just saying they both are real across many squadrons, and it’s not crazy that your squadron may have one or both at play.- A-10 retirement
RTM adjustment isn’t that onerous. Starts with DOC statement - primary vs. secondary missions. You make CSAR, CAS, SCAR (e.g. Counterland) primary missions and OCA/DCA secondary. Secondary missions do not need to get much love on the RTM. Good example is F-35 can knock out all CAS reqs in a 2 week training phase per year. Similarly, ANG vipers in this hypothetical could do about 4 weeks of A-A focused training and call it good for the year.- ANG Fighters
Did you do any interview prep? How much, and how well, do you perceive you interacted with pilots in a social setting?- A-10 retirement

Don’t make it out to be anything beyond hanging out with dudes in your squadron. Act/talk like your normal self - they’re just dudes hanging out over beers, just like you. Don’t get shitfaced - know when to take a break/stop.- A-10 retirement
Yep, and I personally think that’s still the best answer. But, just need to have it all lined up vs. scrambling at the 11th hour (I know, wishful thinking). A great move would be Boise - getting Blk 40s, just have them transition to the new jet with no/little change in DOC statement. Profit from the shit ton of experience they have (who are all about to leave ASAP…so, maybe just a theoretical win at this point)- A-10 retirement
We started this in 2015-16 timeframe, but ACC better figure out who’s taking CSAR (fighter-wise) and “CAS culture.” The A-10 will die someday, even if it has another surprise lease in the future. Should be a prime focus for someone in the community. You got 4 years, don’t fuck it up!- The Iran thread - military tactics, strategy and lessons learned so far
Sure, it’s MCO. The fact is we’ve been so used to GWOT-level risk for 30+ years, so MCO-level risk to infrastructure/our mil assets seems insane. The thing is we’ve actually done incredibly well and the impact has been extremely limited when looked at through an MCO lens. For sure. Lots of people, in addition to the Ford, have spent 10+ months deployed over the last year and change. I have some real problems with force apportionment at the operational level for both AD and Guard. - The Next President is...
