  15. VSP results are potentially late summer, with separation at end of Sep 14. Take a big check in FY14 after getting 9 months of salary. Hello 33% income tax bracket. RIF results are Aug 14, and 31 Jan 15 separation. Extra time, extra pay, "reduced severance" that is actually paid in the next year when you're taking a pay cut. ('03 would see $20K reduction before taxes, but also get paid $26K in base pay alone to languish for 4 months and then take the severance in FY15).

  17. Let's not get into the nuts and bolts of the incident. I quoted the item about the glideslope to express that in an air force that demands perfection, they need to change the culture and accept that small errors will be made.   21. Perfect example. In this case, you have probably zero familiarity with twin turboprops, but that wouldn't be much different when they would've handed you the A-code either I bet. If the auto-pilot is trimming along with the decreasing airspeed, the recovery is going to be tasty. Is there not enough rudder authority to counteract the P-factor? -At a low enough airspeed...no... but if the pilot has his feet on the floor, it doesn't matter.
