  1. scle·rot·ic /skləˈrädik/ adjective 1. MEDICINE of or having sclerosis. 2. becoming rigid and unresponsive; losing the ability to adapt. "sclerotic management"
  2. Having known people who have had false allegations levied against them, I'll hold off on my judgement of Maj Gen Stewart and see what the investigation comes up with.
  3. Probably 3.5-4 months, IIRC. And there were quite a few more events/sorties than there are now. Also, the C-model flies about .1 shorter sorties than the A does.
  4. A PCS... to learn how to instruct in the T-38? YGBSM.
  5. Yes: they increased it from 167 to 194 pilots accepted for the early retirement. I'll be interested to see how many apply to another airline.
  6. Because I wasn't previously aware of anyone that was willing to step up and put their name to the allegation. Have you ever had someone "anonymously" accuse you of something severe? I'm not a Trump apologist, so don't try to frame me as one. I gather from your reply you are not a fan. Noted. I attempted to frame my post in a non-biased manner. Please respect that.
  7. Yeah, I always took his POW remarks to simply be a case of extremely poor taste in lashing out at John McCain... but aimed only at McCain and not the POW's en masse. Until today, I didn't put much credence into the allegations he's said disparaging things towards WIA and KIA. However, Gen John Kelly's remarks today on the issue are disturbing. I can't imagine Kelly is lying, or that he even "misunderstood". I'm curious how Trump will react to this in the coming days.
  8. It's always been this way... even if it went unenforced for a few years. Is having to stay on base that big of a deal? There's a lot of big shit wrong in the AF. This is unnecessary noise.
  9. McJay, What airshow are you referring to? I have no idea what your post is trying to say.
  10. HindSight, you're such a dick. But... since you brought it up... https://www.avweb.com/news/wagstaff-says-shes-sorry-for-oshkosh-incident/
  11. First of all, Blair worked with the Canadian Snowbirds and they were very happy with his work. Second, I personally don't believe the AF needs a section of Combat Camera to do air-to-air photography. Paying salary, TDY, retirement, disability... is unnecessary. There are plenty of people in the AF that can do great work. We have a pilot in our squadron that has a college degree in photography and does incredible work. Simply keep a database of these folks and use them. Or hire known civilians, like Paul Bowen, who is considered one of the best in the world. https://www.warbirdheritagefoundation.org/paul_bowen.html I believe that any photographer would like for people to see their final product, and know it came from them just by looking at it. In that area, Blair has succeeded. His style is unique. Finally, I see a few of y'all do not like the final product from Blair's shoot. Outside of BO.net, I've yet to hear someone say anything but very good things about the shots. I plan to get some printed up for the squadron.
  12. I worked a few shows with the T-6 Demo Team. Small footprint, low cost, and good publicity for the AF. Overall, it was a real good idea... which of course means they killed it. There are not enough demo teams to meet the demand for them, and an AF T-6 Demo would be a welcome addition to the airshow circuit... and would give the AF the ROI it wants. I met the Demo pilot at the airshow parties. IIRC, he went on to leave the AF and work as a Textron T-6 Demo pilot, with some sort of involvement in AT-6 program. I also recall that Patty Wagstaff did the T-6 Demo for a short period of time. I remember a story floating around that she ran that T-6 pretty hard in her routine. Like real hard.
  13. I'm amazed that in this day and age, someone would think this is ok to do outside of a Demo Team. I'd be equally surprised if other airshow performers there didn't question it after they saw it. Any word what happened to the pilot?
  14. Relax... we simply are finding it funny. Yes, she doesn't speak aviation. Yes, I would have made the call on the guy's phone myself... even if I was in shock from the ejection. Don't worry: no one is writing her hate letters. We just find it humorous.
  15. I'm sure the 911 operator worked in AF Finance or MPF in a previous job. Please, Lord... when the day comes that I need 911, don't let this be the operator that answers. Amen.
  16. That dude looks like he needs to cut back on the jelly donuts.
  17. I don't know if it applies to this situation... but during my AF career, I observed that dealing with our own internal organizations was incredibly painful and bureaucratic... and the results often didn't meet the expected outcome. In so many cases, it was better to go with an outside source.
  18. Last Reno Air Races start today. Weather looks great and it will be packed.
  19. I have no idea how this works... but my friends that seem savvy like you say just the opposite about newest rates. FWIW, I hope you are right and they are wrong.
  20. I wrote their "newspaper" editors. No reply.
