Yes. It's terrible. Everything is spread out. Too much wasted space.

There should be one discussion forum, no sub-forums.

Get rid of all the pinned topics.

1st - moving this topic to the 781 subforum.

2nd - I haven't pushed an update in a while.

3rd - minus the heritage subforums I added, this subforum structure has been the same since.... Probably the early 2000s.

I'd say the vast majority of people who visit here bypass all the other forums and go straight to General Discussion and Squadron Bar.

There's so much overlap in the content that there's no real reason to have these forums separate, and they're located further down the page.

New folks are interested in the "What are my chances?" and "Pilot selection process" forums. They're at the bottom of the page.

There is very little interest in any of the other forums. They should be at the bottom.

Not trying to call your baby ugly, and maybe you're not trying to drive traffic and engagement, but the forum is declining.

If you want to stop in and see what people are talking about, which format is the most user-friendly?

Not that this site should be built according to my personal tastes, but I've been here since the inception of the site and I think others may feel the same way.: It's no longer easy to login, glance at the front page, and browse the topics being discussed.

Hold on. What in the actual F is that last screenshot? I see (and I think most people see) the second screenshot.... Let me check some settings!

Okay. I found the problem. Somehow the default Theme got reset to that garbage that you screenshotted (is that a word). I've fixed that in the settings, and now everybody should be seeing something similar to the second screenshot that @gearhog posted.

As to the above the fold vs below the fold discussion... I'm not trying to aggressively drive engagement. However, I think we should have a user-friendly design. I agree that I don't understand the difference between the Squadron Bar and the General Discussion subforums anymore. Let's be honest, almost every thread devolves into political name-calling.

All of that said, I'm open to suggestions on how to streamline some of the subforums.

whatever you did DFRESH fixed it...now back to a much better format...thank you! i was seeing the same thing gearhog had screenshotted. much better!

2 same. Was seeing the previous tile format. Agree with all of the above and now the fix much improved.

Now that we've fixed the immediate problem... Open to suggestions on a forum tree that makes more sense...

My only recommendation is maybe merge the Bar and General branches. They've become indistinguishable.

Does everyone not just use the 'unread content' option? I haven't browsed the forum ever.

Even in the "fixed" version, General Discussion and Squadron Bar are nowhere near the top, which I would call suboptimal.
