July 21, 201411 yr So, the AF Times put together a list of all the CONUS bases ranking quality of life according to "everything from school quality to the local economy, crime rates to traffic, and climate to on-base amenities, such as commissaries". I don't agree with their list and am pretty surprised by where some of the bases ended up. I'm curious what everyone's opinion is of the best base. Here's the AF Times list. 1. July 21, 201411 yr They stopped at 68 so they wouldn't have a #69 and offend the "anti-sex" groups we have growing in our ranks (but we celebrate one group's "sexuality" with festivals and celebrations...but I digress). I mean seriously...who makes a list of the "Top 68 Air Force Bases"

July 21, 201411 yr Schriever is 9 miles from Peterson, doesn't have a commissary or BX, no restaurants, and you have to drive to Peterson for pretty much everything. Schriever is 11, Pete is 28. That makes sense.

July 22, 201411 yr One person's paradise is another person's hell. While TDY in Singapore, met a SMSgt who said she hated Singapore and couldn't wait to get back to Holloman. I was shocked as Singapore looked pretty cool to me. I just spent 3 years at Camp Smith while living at Hickam and I'm glad to get away. Great place to live for a while but the traffic, high costs, and island fever started to wear after three years. My favorite place to be assigned was Randolph and least favorite was Goodfellow (I liked Kunsan better than Goodbuddy).
