January 10Jan 10 The only real deterrent, and I doubt if it is legal, would be to hold the lawmakers in contempt of court and put them in jail for passing laws that any first year law student could tell will absolutely be struck down by the courts. Otherwise they pass a law they know will get struck down, but makes life miserable for gun owners until it does. Then once it gets struck, they change happy to glad and pass it again knowing full well what the result will be.
January 10Jan 10 You guys really don't get it? This is a culture war play in the short term and a step in the direction of Australia style gun bands and "buybacks." And if they could get it, repeal of the 2nd.They know SCOTUS will strike a bunch of it down. But then they turn to their base and say "see, the ultra MAGA crazies are preventing us from keeping you safe!"The left never trusted that the right wasn't coming for abortion, and the right has never trusted that the left isn't coming for all the guns. Both sides are correct not to trust the other.
Wednesday at 12:51 PM3 days Update for those using (or attempting to use), the new Electronic Form 4 with ATF. The system has crashed multiple times since they went live the first of the year, they did not anticipate the increased demand caused by lowering the tax stamp to )$....morons.I bought a quick disconnect suppressor for my Sig MPX and a new 5.7X28 from SPARTAC with an integrated ans sheathed with suppressor. When I completed the form the website crashed multiple times while trying to submit, was successful the next day. I am at Day 5 with no change in status. I've heard reports of 1-7 days for individual and longer for trusts. Totally subjective but the broker told me for the ones he is processing, if someone has a security clearance (a lot of military where I live), it is taking twice as long as the others with out. No idea why that would be the case....and could just be his experience locally as a one off. Pictures when complete.
Wednesday at 01:07 PM3 days Just got my EForm 4 Ready to Submit email this morning. Fingers crossed......I'll follow up
Wednesday at 01:55 PM3 days Hopefully they have their shit in a sock when I go to buy later this year.

I had an issue when I filed a Form 4 for a free SBR a couple of years back during the brace amnesty period. I don't know why, it simply doesn't make sense...
Thursday at 02:08 PM2 days Dems launching another attack on the 2nd amendment. Senator Chris Murphy (D) NY), is pushing an amendment that will raise the NFA Tax Stamp to $4709 per item.
Thursday at 02:34 PM2 days How about there’s a $4709 tax you have to pay to vote. Same thing Chris, you dipshit.

Especially now being $200 cheaper, you can get an ok silencer for $500 and a good one for $1K. Your only regret is going to be that you didn't buy one earlier.
13 hours ago13 hr I remember buying my first (multi-cal) thinking this’ll cover the calibers I care about, don’t need anymore suppressors. Ha, was I wrong!

Basically, "you should've known better" Mr. Mejia from what I found got the extra smack down for his SBR because he already owned a registered suppressor. The other lesson is to be careful who you invite to the range to shoot with you. https://saf.org/fbi-atf-arrest-of-florida-man-for-unregistered-short-barrel-rifle-showcases-absurdity-of-nfa/Let's face it with the pistol brace vs stock and the frankly vague definition of "designed to be fired from the shoulder" the ATF has a lot of latitude to make ones like miserable depending on the administration in power. But, that’s only a fraction of what I own, so I’m not going to be left gunless. Additionally, it’s not hard to do the paperwork and just not have any issues with the ATF. I’ve never talked to a LEO about my guns, ever, and I’ve had NFA items for many years at this point. If you’re concerned about dumb shit like shouldering (ATF dumb, not you), then just don’t do that at a public range (I have many times without issue by the way).Bottom line, NFA is unconstitutional bullshit, but it’s not a crazy process and owners of NFA items by and large have no issues in practical application. Ignorance of the law is not an acceptable defense. A firearms lawyer that is publicly proclaimed as an expert in firearms law that illegally owns an SBR should be held to the same punishment as joe bagofdoughnuts. That link didn't have enough info about if he was really subjected to extra prosecution because of the existing suppressor, but if he was, that is just another abuse of justice thrown into what already seems to be an abuse of the system in that case.
