The only real deterrent, and I doubt if it is legal, would be to hold the lawmakers in contempt of court and put them in jail for passing laws that any first year law student could tell will absolutely be struck down by the courts. Otherwise they pass a law they know will get struck down, but makes life miserable for gun owners until it does. Then once it gets struck, they change happy to glad and pass it again knowing full well what the result will be.

You guys really don't get it? This is a culture war play in the short term and a step in the direction of Australia style gun bands and "buybacks." And if they could get it, repeal of the 2nd.

They know SCOTUS will strike a bunch of it down. But then they turn to their base and say "see, the ultra MAGA crazies are preventing us from keeping you safe!"

The left never trusted that the right wasn't coming for abortion, and the right has never trusted that the left isn't coming for all the guns.

The system has crashed multiple times since they went live the first of the year, they did not anticipate the increased demand caused by lowering the tax stamp to )$....morons.

I bought a quick disconnect suppressor for my Sig MPX and a new 5.7X28 from SPARTAC with an integrated ans sheathed with suppressor. When I completed the form the website crashed multiple times while trying to submit, was successful the next day. I am at Day 5 with no change in status. I've heard reports of 1-7 days for individual and longer for trusts. Totally subjective but the broker told me for the ones he is processing, if someone has a security clearance (a lot of military where I live), it is taking twice as long as the others with out. No idea why that would be the case....and could just be his experience locally as a one off.

This is a Senate amendment (SA 4159/2973) to the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act (H.R. 3944), the latter providing money for building and maintaining military facilities, housing and infrastructure and including funding for bases, training facilities, and projects that support readiness and quality of life for service members as well as allocating funds for the Department of Veterans Affairs for healthcare, benefits, and programs for veterans including medical centers, mental health services and modernization of VA systems.

It is not a coincidence that it was tied to this bill!

By the way, $200 in 1934 is approximately worth $5,224 in 2026 when adjusted for inflation.

This 1000%. The biggest downside is that I'm now annoyed when I shoot guns that aren't threaded. Especially now being $200 cheaper, you can get an ok silencer for $500 and a good one for $1K. Your only regret is going to be that you didn't buy one earlier.

I remember buying my first (multi-cal) thinking this’ll cover the calibers I care about, don’t need anymore suppressors. Ha, was I wrong!

I may be a little paranoid, but I understand some have had the fact that they already have a registered NFA item used against them in a subsequent court case involving an unregistered NFA item. Basically, "you should've known better" Mr. Mejia from what I found got the extra smack down for his SBR because he already owned a registered suppressor.

The other lesson is to be careful who you invite to the range to shoot with you.
