VL-16

Unfortunately the subsonic rounds typically won't cycle the semi-autos well, if at all.

This particular round is ok for use in the GSG-5 if anyone has one. I just finished researching it and bought a box.

If you're ok with shooting shitty wolf ammo, this place has some in stock.. $16/box

http://www.keepshooting.com/wolf-223-fmj-55gr.html

Highly recommend http://www.gunbot.net

It sorts by price per round and whether it's in stock.

That's interesting, as my GSG-5 is very finicky when it comes to ammo (my -522 is not nearly as bad)...

Thanks for the info, I might just have to snag some just to see.

Cheers! M2

S&W M&P-10 in stock at Buds I just ordered one

http://www.budspolic...oducts_id/15142

Good move, they got a great write-up in the May issue of Guns & Ammo. Plus, Bud's is already sold out (at least that's what I think, your link doesn't work for me!)

And for the record, Cheaperthandirt can still suck it. They have M&P-15 ORs in stock at $1795

http://www.cheaperth...product/GUN-811

That's double what Bud's has been listing them for.

Yeah, this rush is pretty crazy. You have to hawk the website daily. The "Wishlist" feature isn't even working. I just happened to see that rifle a couple of hours ago, placed the order, and thirty minutes later it showed out of stock. The guy I'm doing my FFL through is a State Trooper and he wanted to order one when he called me back, but it was already out of stock. Crazy!

Quantico tactical has rifles in stock, if you feel like paying more than Bud's. They stamped "Don't Tread on Me" on the magwells. Looks pretty good, but their prices don't justify it IMO. Especially for the M&P-10, where they list "Our Price" at $1650 and "MSRP" at $1610.

Added a Pacymahr Decelerator to my XDS and test fired it yesterday.

Much better to shoot now. The snappy recoil combined with the uber-4x4-type grip really worked a number on my, apparently, girly-hand.

The Decelerator, made for the model specifically, really helped cushion the recoil and added just a bit of needed girth (sts) to the grip.

Standard carry is now the Pearce Grip magazine pinky-extension and this. Me likey the gun much better now.

After doing some research, that may be a typo. S&W lists the MSRP as $1650 for the civilian and "dealer sets pricing" for the LE model.

Damn, left the mag at work. I'll check it on Monday...

M&P-10 and M&P-15 OR in stock at Bud's again today. As usual, probably won't last more than a couple hours.

EDIT: M&P-15 already out of stock. holy crap. But they do have an M&P-40 and M&P-45

Damn...I'm wanting to get my hands on the MP10. Unfortunately, like you said, I'm not getting the alert emails when my 'wish-list' items are back in stock. Guess I just need to be checking it more frequently and hope I get lucky.

I've been hawking it daily. It's kind of addictive. Somehow I think I may end up going broke buying 3 or 4 guns from them.

Ordered some for my CMMG conversion kit and M&P 22. I'll let you know how it works out. On another note, Aguila SuperExtra does NOT work with the M&P at all. Every other round had to be manually cycled. Worked fine with CMMG kit though.

Good article today on 'The Truth About Guns' discussing the writer's opinion on where we stand with the AR supply/demand and ammo supply.

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/04/foghorn/ar-15-shortage-ending-ammo-shortage-getting-worse/?fb_source=pubv1

What's interesting is that non-reloadable Russian 7.62 used to be darn near the same price as the same type in .223 (ie Wolf ammo). Now you can get bulk Russian 7.62 for as cheap as $.26-30/round whereas the non-reloadable Russian .223 seems to be pushing $.45-55/round, and that's if you can find it. I wonder if that will cause even more people to think the AK route is the way to go...even if just for sport shooting? I have quite a bit stocked up for both rifles, but at this rate, I'm thinking I'd be more inclined to go plinking with my AK vs my AR. Fortunately my MP-15-22 often gets the nod.

Thoughts?

Cheap Walmart ammo...

Gents, I just want to let you in on a little strategy on buying ammo from Walmart. Generally they are the only place that has (sometimes) ammo at the same prices now as before Sandy Hook.

Step 1 - go to www.walmart.com. Check for ammo in the sporting goods section under outdoors or just search for your favorite caliber.

Step 2 - check the stock status at your local store and those around you. You will often find some is available.

Step 3 - call the store, ask the first person who answers to check the UPC from the website. They can check to see if the UPC is in stock at the store.

Step 4 - optional, ask to speak to the sporting goods section. Wait for the surly Walmart employee to answer - ask them what is on the shelf - remember you're about the 69th person to ask about ammo on their shift. A lot of the time the ammo isn't even out on the shelves and you can "see" it via the website and UPC search.

Step 5 - go - go now if it is in stock. If you get there and the shelves are empty ask the clerk if they just sold out (that's always my luck). If they haven't sold any and it isn't on the shelf ask them to check the back. A lot of the time they just haven't put the ammo out yet. Be prepared to buy only 3 boxes as they ration it.

I've managed to buy 5995 rounds of .22 LR in the last month along with some 9 mm, .45 ACP and .44 Mag all at pre-scare prices.

Connecticut to enact sweeping bipartisan anti-gun laws.

require new state-issued eligibility certificates for the purchase of any rifle, shotgun or ammunition; mandate that offenders convicted of any of more than 40 weapons offenses register with the state; require universal background checks for the sale of all firearms; substantially expand the state’s existing ban on assault weapons.

Yep--pretty sad, though their previous gun laws were also some of the worst, now this just makes them 'the' worst (are darn close). I'm sure it will get challenged in the courts and will be interesting to see where it goes from there.

The biggest question--will Colt end up leaving?? As much as I would love for them to leave, I don't see it happening. Unlike Magpul, Colt is a very large business with a large government contract and I'm sure they'll even be given a good deal or be threatened with losing government business if they shut-up and stay put.

As for the sorry bastards who live there, well, if Liberty and Freedom is that important to them then they'll make arrangements to move (shit, illegals do it everyday across the southern border). It's time to start voting with your feet.

NCO's wife rolled up in NYC for transporting her husband's handgun in a case, ammo in the original packaging, and following all the airline procedures. Saw her story on FB today. http://www.wday.com/event/article/id/77862/group/homepage/

Please read and share

My name is Beth Arneson Ferrizzi. I live in Moorhead, MN. I am a 29 year old stay at home mother and a military wife. I have a 6 year old daughter and am 6 months pregnant. My husband is a Master Sergeant Select who has served multiple tours in Iraq. He is currently on a year long unaccompanied tour in Honduras.

On March 16th, my daughter and I flew to New York City to visit my best friend, meet my husband, and attend his sister's wedding in Philadelphia, PA. I asked my husband if he would show me where he grew up while we were in Philly. He agreed, but warned me it was a rough neighborhood. He asked me to bring his handgun with me, just in case. My husband has a conceal to carry permit in the state of North Dakota with reciprocity in Pennsylvania.

Prior to my departure from Fargo, ND, I went on the Delta Airline website to read the policy on transporting a firearm. I also called the Delta customer service hotline and I explained that I was planning to transport my husband's gun and wanted to be sure I followed the proper procedures. I felt the information I was given was somewhat confusing, especially in regard to transportation of ammunition. I then talked to my husband about what I had been told on the phone and I went to Walmart to find out more about ammunition packaging and what, if any, ammo transportation cases they sold. After gathering additional information, I drove to the airport in Fargo, ND and spoke to a Delta employee directly. I again told the agent of my desire to transport my husband's gun to New York City and asked what specifically I was required to do.

I was told the gun had to be declared when I checked my bag. I was told the gun had to be unloaded and in a hard sided gun case. I was told the case had to be locked and I needed to keep the key with me in the event that security needed me to open the case. I was told that I could transport the ammunition in its original packaging. I was told as long as the bullets were separated from each other, for example not tossed in a plastic zip lock bag, that it was perfectly fine. I specifically asked if they could be inside the same locked case as the gun, and was told yes.

When my daughter and I arrived at the airport in Fargo, ND, I went to the

Delta counter and declared that I had an unloaded firearm in a locked case inside the suitcase I was checking. I was asked to sign a piece of paper and place it anywhere inside my checked bag. My bag was taken, checked, and I was told I could go. I told the Delta agent that I had been previously told that I could not go through security until my checked bag had been cleared. I waited for my checked bag to be checked and was told everything was in order. My daughter and I got on the plane and flew to New York.

When we arrived at LaGuardia Airport in New York, I was not stopped by anyone from the airline, security, or the police. I picked up my checked bag at baggage claim and continued on with my vacation. Throughout the time we were in New York, the gun remained inside its locked case inside my suitcase. It was not taken out until we arrived in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to leaving Philadelphia, the gun was unloaded and returned to the locked case.

On March 26th, I returned with my daughter to LaGuardia Airport. I arrived early and followed the same steps I had prior to boarding the plane in Fargo, ND. I went to the Delta counter and declared that I had an unloaded firearm in a locked case inside my bag I wanted to check. Upon hearing this, the Delta agent called the Port Authority Police.

I would like to say that my treatment while in the custody of the New York Port Authority Police was fantastic. The officers that I came into contact with went far above and beyond what was required of them by their position. They did everything they could to make me comfortable and to help me in any way they could. I am deeply appreciative of the courtesy that was shown to both me and my daughter.

I am charged with a class C felony, illegal possession of a loaded firearm. I have been released on my own recognizance, but will need to travel back to New York for trial. At that time I will be breast feeding a new born baby. Unknown to me, under New York Law, I was not supposed to transport a handgun, even within a locked case. I was completely unaware of this. Despite my taking every step I could think of to make sure I was transporting the gun legally and safely, completely unbeknowst to me, I had made a mistake. The gun is being considered loaded because I was in possession of the gun and ammunition at the same time. There was no ammo in the gun or magazine. It was in its original packaging, exactly as it was when it was purchased. I am being charged the same as if I had walked into the airport with a chambered round.

I agree with gun laws to decrease violent crimes. I do my best to set a good example for my daughter and to be a law abiding citizen. I am from a family who is involved in the community, my mother is a retired teacher and my father owns a small business. I volunteer at my daughter's school. I bake cookies and send food to the younger troops on my husband's crews. Prior to being married, I was a single parent who struggled to work and go to college. I got a degree to make a better life for my daughter. I enjoy reading, crafts, playing board games and shopping for antiques. I believe that I am being over charged for my lack of knowledge. I was misinformed. Crimes should be judged on a case by case basis, and what is happening to me and my family is wrong.

I am reaching out, looking for anyone who can help us. I did not intentionally or knowingly break any laws. Laws should be meant to keep people safe and to punish criminals who intentionally do wrong. Laws should not be used to heavily punish those doing everything possible to try to do the right thing. If you can help our family, or have any questions please email B.ArnesonFerrizzi@gmail.com. Thank you.
