  1. Was discussing this crash on the golf course today... One of my buddies stated third person that there is communication recording and the words "load shift" are heard. Anyone have insight to this?
  2. **Thread Revival** Looking for updated corporate housing or hotel deals (points) for an extended TDY. Prefer to be around good eating establishments - don't care about the distance to McDill.
  3. ###### that -- it's Gen Foglesong in disguise!
  4. Not to dimish her service, but she only gave 2 years. IMHO, that doesn't entitle her to Arlington - yet alone, have the right to offer her spot.
  5. ...or give us an order preventing the viewing of the " on a hourly basis.
  6. “If we find out somebody’s engaging in this stuff, they’ve got to be held accountable, prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court-martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged — period.” This is the ONLY thing I have ever agreed with with regards to this administration.
  7. ^^ Longest post ever award goes to.....
  8. Not to steer this into a political discussion, but the current administration is contrary to the majority of *taxpaying* Americans as well.
  9. Saw the same pics with the blue "cheap straps". Didn't initially put 2+2 together.
  10. Until told otherwise, I think the wise person believes that load shift is the culprit. However, runaway trim could also be an issue.... What National is saying is that the LM/AC signed off on the Form F's and gave to ATOC, etc. This doesn't necessarily mean that the load was good. I'm sure that every once in a while somebody down below pencil whips the paperwork. Against speculation, it'll be a very sad read if it's proven it was something that could have easily been prevented.
  11. I called the ACP manager....number can be found on the AFPC site. He clearly stated: 1. The money is there, it's at the SECAF level. 2. In his 8 yrs doing ACP work, this is the latest it's gone w/out approval. 3. He *expected* it approx 2 weeks ago, but now it could be 1 June. 4. There is no grandfather date. Whatever date you sign the commitment, that's when your ADSC starts. He was very understanding about the situation and polite on the phone. Shouldn't be much longer....
  12. Active Duty... I (unfortunately) knew one of the dudes on board -- not well, but met on a TDY once.
  13. 1x KIA was EC-130 MWS on a MC-12 deployment RIP brothers
  14. In my opinion, there are two "nice" areas to Columbus that I would consider buying: 1. Cobblestone Village in Caledonia. However, most of the houses for sale/rent are in or near that area. Look for houses on Buck Egger or Wolfe Road. Here is an example: http://www.militarybyowner.com/homes/MS/Caledonia/Sandstone_Circle/MBO116917.aspx It would be a good place as well to rent the house once you move. The Caledonia schools are the sought ISD in the area. 2. Near downtown....there are several for sale right now in the historic district http://www.crye-leike.com/616-3rd-ave/homes/in-zip-code-39701-mgrp-4-tid-goldentriangle-mlsnum-13.643-ln-38-p-4
  15. Uh, I was stationed at ETAR during both Gen Douchenuts and Hobbins. It didn't take "awhile" -- it took about 3 weeks. Bigger fish to fry.
  16. Depending on the kind of boat you have/had would depend on if I'd drop it in the Tombigbee. I had the Moomba Outback like I mentioned and wouldn't get it within a mile of the water from Lake Columbus -- way too much silt in the water, too many floating trees, etc. It's an outstanding lake for fishing and took the fishing pontoon out there a few times - but any boat that you cherish shouldn't be taken on Lake Columbus.
  17. meaningful, progressive stratifications are also considered.
  18. With everyone screaming to git rid of the waist measurement - how do we subjectively scream "hey fatass, you look like a slob in the uniform." At some point, we have to cut our losses for folks who don't measure up (or around). I agree that waist measurement isn't a predicator for fitness or leadership, but at some point we do have to establish regulatory guidance on what we consider public perception of an "elite" fighting force or do we want an "obese" fighting force. Everyone here is in a position of authority -- ask yourselves, how do you fix it without allowing obese (health stricken) individuals into the AF. Do you suggest that we only keep those who can run, pushup and situp? http://articles.wash...-fitness-expert EDIT: Let me add -- what about folks who are on Dental Class III status (i.e. non-deployable) because of hygiene issues -- 4 yrs ago when I was an AFE Flt/CC, I had two such folks. Nothing was frowned at them for something under their own control. You can open (or close) a can of worms.
  19. Copy - from the episodes, he talks like he is much more in the fight than he actually is. Kinda like a FSS troop I guess....
  20. Copy - if I may ask, what is his IDMT role in the entire rescue scenario? Is he a SME able to answer pertinent questions possibly outside the scope of the PJ's expertise? Or, is he more of a flight surgeon/nurse type for the rescue folks themselves?
  21. here is something I found "interesting".... NatGeo is making a *valid* point not to highlight last names. However, just finished all 4 episodes on OnDemand and in each episode, I was able to get the full names. Name patches, incoming mail, etc.... Other question -- the bald Medical Technician -- what is his role in the TOC? All in all, much respect to those who fight that fight so that other may live. I think it's very well put together and I love the helmet mounted cam's with very little editing of scenes.
