I doubt Article 5 would’ve been invoked, but thankfully we won’t know thanks to Ivan’s incompetence. Historically speaking, the Soviet’s shot down 15 of our aircraft during the Cold War outside of combat zones and we never invoked Article 5.

We've been down this road before with the Combat Wombat and I think you’d be 100% correct that forcing an MDS to “specialize” in two distinctly different mission sets is asking for disaster. However comma there could be some benefits with a common platform. Have dedicated gunship squadrons with associated ranges stateside whose crews could go forward quickly to meet up with pre-staged equipment from overseas MC units? Might be some goodness there. That being said, much like the ACE debacle it would probably executed in the dumbest way possible.

If you’re still waiting to find out if you made O-4, try registering for ACSC by correspondence. A few years ago I used that trick to find out early that I made O-5 with AWC (Although registering is as far as I went with that! 🍺) Apparently Air University gets the list even before Senior Raters. At least they used to, they might’ve fixed the glitch by now though.

Ah yes! The glorious liberation of Pro Freedom Peoples Republic of Belgorod!
