Off-topic, but do you have any good -117 stories? Combat/early flying buffoonery/govt interference?

Liberty, Rights, and the Constitution 2
Have you ever sped on the way to work? You are too. I have little problem with Snowden's actions (Manning is a different story). I would be hesitant to call him a hero, but what he did was very important (albeit probably fruitless in the long run.)

Last Beer You Drank and Rate It
split a 2013 Bourbon County Brand Stout with the Old Man on NYE. Very boozy (its 14% abv), lots of chocolate, caramel, black licorice, and a bit of bourbon, but you can taste the potential for aging. Looking forward to cracking one in several years.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
Pajaro- Congrats...you have a shitload of money! Disclaimer: I am a unemployed bum with little financial education from a state school, so keep that in mind. IMHO, you need to diversify. You have 59% of your net worth in one fund. Granted, that fund has kicked ass the past few years, but there have been a few HUGE "corrections" since its inception. You can call USAA and speak to a financial advisor (for free), and they can give you a more educated opinion about how to protect your money.

If it benefits him more than his fellow service members, the answer is pretty obvious...welcome to politics.

Pilot over-reliance on automation.
People fly different planes, steve...I'm guessing you don't have 23 hr days flying across the pond after getting alerting 16 hours into bravo. Add in an A/R and an arrival into busy airspace, and correct manipulation of the automation will ultimately reduce workload for the pilots.

Gen Welsh - USAF Chief of Staff
I like Welsh, but I will bet someone a bottle of Makers the he leaves his post early. I think he had high hopes as CSAF, but has been inundated with BS.

Flight sunglasses
Write "DOT" on the back, and this also works for the motorcyclists out there. Not really, don't kill yourself.

C-17 lands short at Dover
Foul on the 1st answer. And I realize that...but following ILS guidance would still bring them on the appropriate glidepath.
-
C-17 lands short at Dover
I understand we don't need to bring privileged info out, but were you guys (62nd) briefed on this mishap? Also, I'm not sure I understand the relevance of the glideslope...if they were relying on VASIs/PAPIs I kind of get it. What am I missing?

C-17 lands short at Dover
I didn't see in the article...was the AP coupled?

C-17 lands short at Dover
Good one, boom. Psst...your inferiority complex/jealousy is showing. Take your trolling elsewhere.

Academy informant program
Are you surprised? These are the same people that blamed the -22 pilot for going hypoxic and crashing (later disputed by an IG report).
