Replacing the Eagle with Vipers?
It's always nice to have the Eagles CAP over the super MEZ and soak up those SAM shots. Keep the Eagles flying so that others may live!

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
While I agree with you, many in the upper echelons of management are operating 180 out. Just ask some of your bros that sat through this past WEPTAC and can read between the lines

Then how is "leadership" going to micromanage?

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
Don't kid yourself, there are plenty of roles this type of aircraft can perform at a much better price point. You can also include helping out our international partners similar to our existing A-29 program and actually having a FAC program where you can actually face to face discuss with the ground components you are there to support. I know, gasp, how could we ever do that! Plus you can free up an MQ whatever, for another mission somewhere else possibly.

How's Guam
This. You can always stroll down to find the G-Spot. Apparently it's not some made up thing, it's actually a strip club. The local BBQ is actually quite good. And the hashing club is awesome, if you like drinking. And you can swim out to plenty of the dive sites. When you get island fever, go check out the surrounding islands

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
If your expectation is that the copilot will become task saturated copying down ATIS while on autopilot in clear and a million, then that copilot just needs to turn in their wings. If you can't push the boundaries of ability in a safe manner, what are your expectations when things start going very wrong?
-
Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Dear Autopilot, I delegate you to fly the airplane at all times, and get the weather and the ATIS. I promise you I will brief the approach to you. But please don't hate me if I just stare out this nifty window and look at this complex environment. Your loving Crew sitting in the front row

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???
Is that where they force everyone with a DD-214 back to active serve?
-
AF Light Air Support Aircraft
You still have to sell the missiles to country X. Which may or may not be an issue. And for some nations, having a larger helicopter fleet is cheaper since they do not have to pay for airfields to the extent that fixed wing aircraft require

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???
Yes. Cause then you get to sue a few more people with deep pockets, like those that developed the automation/comm link, etc.

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???
I'd be curious as to the costs of the first few lawsuits when reality sets in.

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???
Here is an idea, stop having rated officers be part of the normal Line Officer promotion system. Might just solve some minor issues

No more off base TDY reimbursement
My guess is that history repeats itself and someone gets promoted

What's wrong with the Air Force?
You tell us, you are the one that used the term first.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
The Economist used to be balanced. It most definitely is not anymore.

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
Only about a decade late. Sounds about right

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
If that's the case, might as well bring back Bergstrom. I'm sure plenty of people would volunteer for that one.

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
And how often do things become unraveled when just one or more of your 13 crew members are well below average?
-
AF Light Air Support Aircraft
Maybe some pilots are good enough that they don't need the noise maker in the back seat taking up space for fuel and slowing them down.
