What? Rule #2 specifically says special benefits package, which JGB falls under per MPFs own list. As for currency, I separated 31 Dec 2017, so not sure what would have changed between now and then.

Ok I had to look back in my emails. Your discharge benefits code is under “special benefits package.” When you go to Airman and Family Readiness, they will look up that code, which also authorizes you six months of healthcare under TAMP. MPF has a master list of codes that qualify for the 20 days of permissive TDY under the special benefits package listed above. Give them the code that A&FRC gave you and they will validate the 20 days. Edit: I had to go to MPF and get it added to DEERS, THEN Separations would validate/approve the 20 days. Edit 2: it was the Separation code, which was JGB for us. That’s what I had to get added to DEERS before pressing on.

I was able to take 20 days of permissive TDY tacked onto my terminal.

With a few separate details, this was me. I really didn’t care to advance my military career, told my commander I planned to get out, asked to be a line IP at a UPT base, and was subsequently passed over for Major. The rumor mill went crazy as I deployed to Tampa for 7 months in the middle of it (“he told the commander to fuck off...) The amount of friends who privately expressed envy was shocking and kind of hilarious. In conclusion, it can happen with the right commander and right assignment. Incredibly thankful for the opportunities of the past, incredibly stoked to be out and loving life. Risky move, but knew I couldn’t stomach another 10 years. No regrets.

I had a 55 PCSM and a 2.7 GPA when I got my slot in 2005 with ROTC. No idea how I got a pilot slot, to be quite honest. Edit: had like 12 flight hours, and took the AFOQT blindly because the cadre was like “hey you need to take this” with like a weeks heads up

It’s 11 years of your life. I have zero regrets doing it. There is no comparing it to the civilian world, military flying is one of the most awesome things on the planet. Now I have zero regrets leaving it, but very glad I did it And then you can go back to your finance job... if you want to.

Pretty much exactly that. I have bought/sold two houses with VA loans, but never done anything from scratch before.

Has anyone ever used a VA loan to build a custom house? Are there any major issues? Is it the same financing rules? Also, as I begin the airline saga, is getting a mortgage impossible on first year pay or do underwriters understand our progressive pay scale? Speaking of which.. NBOKC/Marty - what are the 15 year fixed VA rates nowadays? Is there any difference between a 760 and 805 score, rate wise? I distrust the Quicken loans pop ups...

What plane?

Without getting into too much detail, I also showed my cards, and my QoL became measuredly better. I was at a UPT base and resumed flying 4-5x a week. While I missed being operational, my work life was what I always imagined being a Pilot in the USAF would be like. In AF wisdom, they PCS'd me in the middle of my promotion shenanigans, and my gaining base got a whopping 10 months of qualified time before I started terminal. Any discussions about the irony of the situation with both the losing Wing CC and new functional was a rousing generic speech on how disappointed I must be with this outcome, and not to give up hope on being promoted ABZ. And now I sit here on terminal, vacationing in Europe, out 2 years early from my ADSC, and a CJO from a legacy airline. Life is good.

Can someone explain the new changes at AA? What is Average Calendar Day? How is it different then Minimum calendar day? What is the big picture effect here, besides more $$?
