  1. Why did you choose CFA over CFP? Having been down the path, what are your thoughts on Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)? I ask because I've been considering a similar path.
  2. I'd highly recommend anyone interested/vulnerable to these programs read up on the applicable portions of Title 10 and NDAA 2013/2014. It's starting to seem that the folks planning this over at A1/AFPC haven't.
  3. Your post doesn't make much sense. Are you already at Creech, or are you just assuming you'll be opposite days/shifts?
  4. 37 under investigation now. link
  5. In the aircrew world, this is called "I have a secret." Best case, it erodes trust. Worst case, it makes airplanes crash. All people are asking from AFPC is transparency and access to information that directly affects the rest of their entire lives.

Euthanasia roller coaster 10G for 60 sec: are you man enough?

Also, can we split this thread since this isn't about the MC-12 crash in AFG?
  8. More drama. I guess 'burnout' can lead to other stuff.
  9. Check And here. And here.

I can just picture how this went. Intruder: Give me all your money 63 year old woman: Let me get you a bunch of cash from my safe Intruder: OK 63 year old woman pulls gun from safe and wins
  11. Same article gets written by a different journalist every 6 months or so. Nothing new here. I am curious, though, if the James Carroll who wrote this one is this James Carroll.
  12. O's were notified by name, not some sort of eligibility matrix, last week too.

We did this exact exercise at ASBC.

No problem. Just pay for the last class out of pocket. But seriously, since we often follow the example of the Army, now is probably a good time to take advantage of today's benefits if you're on the fence.

No. They've slid the implementation at least one class to the right. 14C = 8 weeks. https://www.au.af.mil/au/soc/course_dates.asp (note the lack of astericks after 14C) *edited for double post

Just remember: any video footage, even if taken without proper authorization, can and will be used against you in an AIB.
  18. Multiple typos on the official bio. Ouch.
  19. Can someone explain why we're talking about implementing a 25K personnel cut when when congress only reduced our end strength by 1860 in the 2014 NDAA? Is that even legal?

    LOL from Texas
  21. My first reaction was against the idea, but you bring up some good points. Obviously, specialties that require specific lengthy training or certification couldn't be filled this way, but many management jobs could easily be. As a former MSG type myself, I can tell you that very little of what I, and many of my counterparts, did required a specific skillset. The most important things were a basic understanding of the mission, decent leadership and admin skills, the ability to read and interpret the AFI's that governed your job, and most especially good NCO's. I would argue that mid-level rated Captains would make great flight commanders in places like Supply, Vehicle Ops/Mx, Security Forces, Base Comm, Services, Force Support, Aerial Port, POL, Aircraft Mx, etc... Arguably, rated Majors should easily fill similar DO positions and possibly even squadron commands. If you're proficient at your operational job, there's nothing wrong with filling one of these positions and stepping to fly from there. It would, however, require a fundamental shift in our cultural paradigm.
  22. So what would this look like? Flying squadrons with just IP's, EP's, and new guys. The rest of the base run by folks who are actually involved in the operational mission of the base?
