  1. Who gets to sit at these committee meetings and actually tell the truth? Congress is pretty short sighted and may not remember that the last pilots WE PAID TO SEPARATE, JUST LEFT THE SERVICE TWO YEARS AGO. Our leadership is now talking about stop loss? Someone needs to look our civilian leadership in the face and tell them AF leadership has zero credibility on this issue and if they hadn't fvcked up so bad the situation would not be this dire. 2. I say that everyday when I'm given more and more crap to take care of. Except mine is "2019 I'm done." Making plans to move back home and put active duty behind me have done wonders for my stress level and general outlook on life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Meaning they make 2 dudes share the misery or they tag one poor soul with back to back 179s? I would think the former, but I wouldn't put it past the Air Force to do the latter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So assuming someone stays past their UPT ADSC and is a free agent, what options do they have when given a non-vol 365? The other thread says a 3 day opt, but I'm hearing you must have a separation date established otherwise you can't opt out. If that's now the case it's just one more reason to quit. 5. So what AFI governs separations? I'd like to study up to hopefully prevent being screwed when the time comes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Has anyone else had success with this method? It's looking like I'm being paroled from RPA purgatory. I've always heard you have to sell your preferred assignment to AFPC and that they will typically call a bluff to 7 day opt. While I could 7 day opt at this point, I need the requal and recency before I separate. I'm just hoping C-17s are as low on experience as I keep hearing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yep, I remember that one. Then the one a few years later where the MSgt was forcing a subordinate to blow him periodically. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So no more grad flight at UPT bases? That was a nice vacation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I can't imagine how you would manage a Cat II approach to a runway like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The Cessna Mustang (and most other VLJs) have much slower cruise speeds than the Tone. I wonder what that would mean for reaching all of those out bases for Transition and Nav phase while trying to stay within ASD. I think SUPT has outlived its usefulness and I'll volunteer to go fly the T-X. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Do you guys take Majors? I'm not going to be released from RPA purgatory until next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Weren't they talking about a modified Scorpion competing for T-X? I think they should rip off that ugly straight wing and give it a little sweep. It will kill some fuel economy, but it would make it a hell of a lot cooler and a little bit faster. Maybe then it could catch a Southwest jet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I just saw it and couldn't believe it. Is the Air Force really that self conscious? Someone must think there's something wrong if they couldn't even take a joke about their poor morale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah, ordering everything I need from Vanguard is costing $50+. Clothing sales didn't have shoulder boards or metal rank. But you sure can find everything you need if you're an 0-6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Further proof the shoe clerks think they run the Air Force - why does military clothing not sell rank for flight suits anymore? I went there today and they only have 1st and 2nd Lt rank, absolutely no Major or Lt Col and not even a spot on the shelf for it. They told me to order it on the exchange website, but you can't even get it there. I tried to go to alterations and they would only give me one set of take-offs because they have so many people asking for it. I guess I'll just start flying in ABUs since there's no problem finding all of the ranks for that uniform. Doesn't this f*cking service exist to fly airplanes? Then why the f*ck can I not get rank for my f*cking flight suits? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Unfortunately, black boots are not worth going to Canon. I wish the rest of the AF would follow suit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. What about my black boots? I'll expect that memo by this Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Drain the swamp!! Drain the swamp!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Read 61.159, it's just 250 hours as PIC or as SIC acting as PIC while under the supervision of a PIC. In a crew airplane, all primary time counts toward that. I did not fill out IACRA because I was getting an R-ATP. I took my ARMS career printout, my UPT training report, and my SURF just for good measure showing my aeronautical rating. 21. The current increment of ~260 for Major promotions this year will leave about 80 for the final month. Might the increment increase slightly to finish the promotions in July or is it more likely they will decrease to raise the number for the final month? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Direct democracy is exactly what the framers were trying to avoid with how they structured the Constitution. I would argue we should go back to electing Senators by state legislatures. With 32 states under Republican control, you can see how that would change the national Senate's composition today. And this isn't just because I'd like to see more Republican senators (I think both parties are hopelessly lost) but I think it would give the states a greater voice in Washington as was originally intended. Senators would then be accountable to the state legislature, and states could even choose to recall Senators if they become too entrenched and loyal to Washington instead of who put them there. This would also help to decrease the effect of densely populated urban areas in Senate representation, which was another reason for indirect election in the first place. The founders believed the Senate was the higher house, and wanted to trust choosing those who serve there to state legislators who could/should have greater discernment in who they chose. The framers were much smarter than I, and I believe if our state reps were electing our Senators, people might care a little more about those elections closer to home. 23. The thought also crossed my mind that McCain might want to try to take BAH back to where it was when he was still serving. What that doesn't account for is the inflation that all other living expenses have amassed over the last 50 years combined with the increase in the standard of living. If the military wants to remain competitive to keep the most talented people serving, cutting pay and benefits like this is not how you do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. False. The convention can be structured in such a way that it only focuses on certain amendments or amendments that deal with certain issues. Also, since liberals don't control a majority of state legislatures they would be in the minority at the convention so their agenda would go no where. The legislatures control their state delegations and could recall and replace any members who might exceed the scope of what the convention was meant to address. Keep in mind 3/4 of the states have to ratify any proposed amendments. That means even if a CoS created good amendments (like a balanced budget amendment or ending Supreme Court lifetime terms) they still may not be ratified. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
