Actually, it seems tax revenue is up following the tax cuts. It probably would have increased without the reform due to the improving economy, but it doesn’t matter a whole hell of a lot when Congress keeps spending a shit ton more than we bring in. Since toll roads are out of control in Texas, I’d be all for getting a plate to avoid paying. My research shows the TX Tag and Harris county toll roads (Houston) only recognize the Medal of Honor, Service Cross or Purple Heart for free tolls. Am I missing something?

Especially after finding out the DOD was paying millions for “patriotic displays.” I also do not take advantage of early boarding, I usually take that to mean active duty in uniform even if that isn’t stated. I also have no desire to board early to sit on the plane longer. As for the license plate thing, I used to have Air Force plates on my truck, but after being at Creech for years I’m leery of putting anything on my vehicle that says I’m military. Nixon was set on getting out of Vietnam, because of this he signed the peace accords before seeing a final list of Americans being held by North Vietnam. The number accounted for was hundreds below what multiple intelligence agencies believed to be alive and in captivity. North Vietnam held back a significant number of prisoners to bargain for reparations, even trying to negotiate as late as 1981 for payment. Maybe if the Senate was included in framing the treaty, we wouldn’t have been so quick to abandon people over there. Definitely not the same as seeking approval from the Senate. Only the in the tank media would spin that as a Democrat victory when he was agreeing to the deal in an illegal manner in the first place. A treaty requires 2/3 of the Senate, period. Now maybe we’ll do it the right way.

I have $600K through AAFMAA for around $25 per month. I have no plans to drop it after I separate even if I can get a good rate at the airline.

I’m in the second module and am considering dropping it because it’s pointless. Does anyone know if it is required to promote to O-5 in the guard? At my last base I knew of reservists who had to retire at O-4 because they didn’t complete it.

I was appalled at first as well, and this MSgt definitely showed lack of judgement for posting this on her FB page. If she wanted her kids to see it, it didn’t need to be up on social media. However, I think effectively terminating her service and not allowing her to re-enlist and serve to retirement is not the right decision. Was everyone at Dover involved in the tasteless picture taken with the transfer case fired from the service? She made a mistake and should be punished, but senior leaders have raped people and received less. She and her kids should not suffer because of one stupid mistake.
