  1. Why would anyone wear A2CUs to the office in garrison? If we start doing that en mass, then we’re giving them an excuse to take our bags away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If your entire professional career was being railroaded on a national stage by uncorroborated allegations you would have been angry during testimony as well. All he did was wind up as the next Justice that shifts the balance, it wouldn’t have mattered who was nominated, there would have been yahoos out there claiming ridiculous stuff like we’ve seen over the past month. 4. My wait was 11 months and my line number was near the absolute bottom of my year group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I just love that we put all of our eggs in one basket time after time. T-6 for both Navy & AF, F-35 for everyone, T-X for all advanced/IFF training. There’s something to be said for diversification of equipment, and I wish we could buy more than one advanced trainer. That way OBOGS or maintenance issues don’t wind up grounding the entire trainer fleet and halting pilot production. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This shit is getting comical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Good for him, he’s got a smokin’ hot wife and two adorable kids. He deserves to live the rest of his life doing whatever he wants and enjoying his family. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. And yes she mentioned the incident years ago in therapy, but did she ID Kavanaugh back then? I haven’t seen anything that says she did. Convenient. Edit: The only mention I see that says she named him was from a Slate article. Hardly a reputable source. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The fact that this lady had 3 decades to bring forward her complaint should throw up some huge red flags. Somehow it wasn’t important enough to bring up when he was a legal advisor to the President (a President the media also hated) or when he was being confirmed to be a federal court judge. The reason you’re seeing this now is because of the environment to believe any allegations brought forth against anyone (or anyone the left/media wants to smear) no matter the evidence, combined with the fact that it’s another Supreme Court seat on the line. This same tactic was used against Clarence Thomas, and I hope conservatives and Republicans have the backbone to dig up every weak thread and allegation and use them to bury future liberal nominees. It’s a shitty tactic, but I compare it to the enemy using mosques for military purposes - the mosque should be erased from the face of the earth. The only reason the left ate their own with Weinstein and Lauer is that the sheer amount of evidence and occurrences of awful behavior were too much to deny once someone started to publicize it. Kavanaugh has dozens of female classmates and co-workers who have vouched for his professionalism and behavior towards women. But we are supposed to derail his career based on a single allegation from 36 years ago? God help us because this sort of shit is going to be used against every nominee or appointee for high level positions going forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Kind of like the never ending Russia investigation? How long would an investigation into Kavanaugh take? The left is using this to try to prevent losing a swing vote on the court, can you imagine when Ginsberg dies? I feel for whoever is nominated for that seat. They’ll have people crawling out of the woodwork to smear whoever it is. Kavanaugh is not a great choice, IMO. He was tied to closely to the Bush administration. I would have picked Amy Barret, she’s a career woman with a large family, something the left seems to think can’t exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’m an OTS grad and initially thought I’d make a career out of the AF. At my first assignment, I upgraded early to AC and was able to lead a crew on my second combat deployment with only about 900hrs under my belt in the C-17. That was awesome, and I would have never gotten the opportunity to do that at such a young age anywhere else. But it’s all about luck and timing. When I hit the VML, the large sucking sound we heard was everyone getting pulled into MC-12s and RPAs. By the time I hit the line flying the MQ-9, I knew I would be separating (and I applied to VSP multiple times). After spending half of my 10 year UPT commitment non-vol’d flying RPAs, I only recommend the guard to anyone. After seeing all of the older guys being tagged with shitty useless deployments to a war we haven’t figured out how to win for 17 years, there’s no way I’ll stay active duty. 12. It’s exactly that, bullshit. We can’t have an investigation into Rep Keith Ellison beating his girlfriend, but a 30 year old allegation is held back during all of the confirmation hearings and now she won’t even testify until an FBI investigation is started? I think this woman probably was assaulted at a party, but she was probably too drunk to remember who it was and it now becomes a convenient piece of political theater. She is a pawn for a group that will stop at nothing to lose their influence on the Supreme Court. This is why judicial overreach is bad for the country, the Supreme Court should not matter this much. 14. But they invited the family and had a ceremony, that makes it official. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Because you’re flying with visual “contact” with ground references. That’s how it was explained to me years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Should be Phase 3 GPT - they already have wings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I just have a question or two about this new syllabus: 1. What is transition teaching these guys to transition from? 2. If they aren’t learning contact first, what kind of flying do they do in transition? I’m just a dumb T-1 guy, but I remember the purpose of our transition phase was to apply the basic skills learned in T-6s to the Tone - VFR patterns, area instrument maneuvers, etc. Not sure what brand new UPT students would be transitioning from, maybe the DA-20? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. How do they know this when advanced aero was done in contact phase? Is it just for guard/reserve who know their airframe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’m wondering if the rate of unprofessional relationships is higher at Laughlin than it is at Vance or Columbus (both are much closer proximity to university campuses). If so, too bad we didn’t keep Reese instead of Laughlin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I also don’t think 30% of T-6 instruction was spent on ELPs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. ELPs also teach decision making skills in an emergency scenario. The ability to analyze your energy state and decide if you can make high key, low key, or if you need to bail out. It’s been a bit, but I remember practicing this in the sim and having to go through it many times in stand up and table top EPs (turn climb clean check). This decision making process works better when you have experience with the maneuver. Do they even teach it in the Sim or was it axed completely? If so, it sure makes your analyzing and decision making much easier - “EJECTION HANDLE - PULL” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’m now paying for my laziness when it came to my personal logbook during my years of flying. I’m digging through my FRF, mission histories, and MERS to log as much data as I can from my C-17 flying. FlyArmy, I appreciate the excel file. I like how it logs airport locations and totals up miles flown. I recently used the Microsoft HUP to update MS Office on my Mac, and it comes with cloud access for documents. So now once my logbook is up to date, I can keep it that way with my iPhone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. When I took my family during my time at the FTU, I didn’t get a non-a. I just used the $60/day to pay for our housing. I did run into an overzealous civilian at Nellis finance that tried to refuse to pay me lodging and per diem because my family was with me (I guess she saw this on the PCS travel voucher). She tried to say I was “staying with family” as justification for non-payment. It took me 7 months to get paid correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Caveat to the above statement - I’m talking about private schools for the masses. Not the ridiculous schools that the kids of Senators and Presidents attend. Those can afford to pay their teachers well, I’m sure. But someone utilizing school choice would not be sending their kid there, those are for the ruling class. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
