  1. Just speculating that this has more to do with exhausting alternate lists due to declinations than sending more people to school. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. One of AFSOCs finest… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Right, but how do you operationalize that? I think it would require a huge shift in BMT, we’d have to get Airmen in aircraft, flying, in simulators etc. That would be extremely resource intensive. In my sq/cc tour to Africa I got to see the USN, Army and the USAF all in new light and have to say that I don’t think any one service does it “better.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. No more CVs at Hurby soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Washed out of IFF, went to B-1s, then was TAMIed to AFSOC. I did all right for myself. Keep your chin up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Jumping in — back when I was a part of the push to transform the 318 SOS from straight PC-12 NSAV (similar mission to the -146) to the U-28 we literally had one squadron with two different missions. A lot of the PC-12 guys couldn’t understand how we got satisfaction from the Draco mission (left turns for hours and hours) and same us for them (all you do is fly from point a to point b). We had a few of those folks cross over to the Draco, I wonder if looking back on it which mission set they preferred. Im glad I ended up in U-28s, after being a part of the TAMI push from BONES. That community was all about getting the desired effect and the plane was a means to an end. ILSs and patterns were a necessity to get the job done. Draco is all about meeting GFC intent. That being said there is something to be said for having a buttload of twin turbine time. Good luck with your career it goes by so fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Next move will be bringing back BTZ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Large amounts of QFI in this go around probably stemming from the fact that any admin has to be filed in the Selection Record. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Seems like a good idea for most wings with 2-4 ops squadrons and an OSS under the OG. I wonder how the AFSOC model will work given the size of the current OGs at HRT and CVS. Seems like a span of control problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have given this a watch/listen multiple times and have found it eerily familiar to some of the parallels to our modern society. Not entirely spot on but close in a lot of areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk http://
  12. I thought that was started when some guy was trying to tell his wife what he did and was passed around the wife’s club and then took off from there. I’ll never forget the trip to SWA when the new gunship sqd rotated in and I showed up to my office the next day with a banner about 5 feet long and 3 feet tall hanging in our TOC acknowledging our proud heritage as a seal of the sky. Ahhh memories Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The fact that the aren’t planning on ejection seats is very concerning given the A29 accident a couple years back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Not necessarily, the higher level commander has ultimate responsibility for good order and discipline and has every right to withhold the decision at the higher level. I don’t know what the average is on this stuff but I posted my POV from my experience in command. Lots of well founded skepticism in this thread and that is good. Anyone who has been there and done that knows what I’m saying and anyone who has not and would like to discuss further is more than welcome to discuss via message directly to me. Hit me up. 15. The scenario being described would be unlawful command influence if the member was Article 15d based off of the superior commanders desires. If it was simply admin action only it’s not technically UCI but not the best optic. Dream-the best example I saw about discussing admin and NJP was from a former MXG/CC I worked for at CVS. There was a weekly forum for all the commanders to discuss ongoing situations with the GP/CC in a private room at the Golf Course over breakfast. This allowed all the commanders to know what was going on and learn from one another 100% complete transparency and the GP/CC never told them or myself to alter their course or plan of action—asked questions sure and gave advice based on his experience but only for the benefit of all to learn from one another. 16. No, you always have the right to say nothing. The process of NJP in my experience centers around a carefully scripted process allowing time for a rebuttal as well as considering all evidence relevant to a matter before deciding on whether or not the offenses occurred and then what punishment is appropriate. Case in point I had a troop drive without a license in a deployed environment and damage property. If I would have judged the case without offering due process and decided on a punishment without considering the mitigating circumstances I would be prejudging the case. In this matter it is unclear what truly happened but if the cc was dead set on destroying him in meetings with other commanders that is something to be wary of especially if this was before the process was in its terminal phase. To be clear I am not insinuating any malfeasance on anyone’s part just saying that the comments made do cause me some concern. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Dead-set on crushing you? Was this before considering all of the evidence? I suggest you talk to the ADC again based on what others have told you. Commanders are supposed to at least appear to evaluate all facts before taking action. If the CC was making open remarks about specific punishment without the whole facts he is prejudging the case. You cannot prejudge a case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I refused to sign off on FTIP reviews without being sent. I was on A3V staff at AFSOC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The data coming from Alex Berensons latest interview on Joe Rogan was pretty damning on the subject. We need boosters apparently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Agreed. As a U-28 guy we regularly launched just because. Then after many years a great sq/cc stopped that. Why the hell are we launching above a solid IMC layer with no troops on the ground? And why are we doing it when we can’t even see where we would glide if our one and only engine went out? That guy was worth his salt and a tremendous leader who took shit for that decision but at the time the weather was completely good enough to takeoff and land with minimums. Some things you can’t describe in the 202-V3. And for what it’s worth he was a former F15 guy who would absolutely want to lead his guys into battle on night one. You are right Scooter though, we can’t learn if we don’t talk about it and thus yes. Absolutely great discourse on here the last few days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. What truly is the difference between toxic and intrusive? Putting my former CC hat on I’m sure that the OG was assured thru multiple briefings that there was no cause for alert or concern on the part of anybody for the inbrief for the exercise. Roll around to the next day and he is completely flabbergasted by the reality of cancelled sorties. I’m sure he was disappointed. He was disappointed in the wrong folks. In no time in my 17+ years was I denied no go pills to meet an operational need. If I am him I am asking why the med group denied ambien for the crews? If you want folks to act like it’s night one of world war 3 you have to organize, train and equip them as such including giving them an ambien to switch their sleep cycle so they can fly around the flag pole. In the meantime. Let this be a reminder that anyone can record anything outside of a Vault and take the time you need to talk to your squadron commanders about what happened and do so from a humble place. If your convo is nothing but venting you are not ready. No bad situation gets solved thru frustration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. All righty. Going to breakup the monotony of this thread and just say. I survived command on a 365. One of the best experiences in my life probably because I wasn’t a shiny penny. There may be some wrong in the USAF but not in the deployed environment where the mission hackers make it happen. There are a lot of eager and aggressive Airmen out there who are only limited by the system they exist in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Fine with this decision as long as we stop the need for ROM/Quarantine regardless of vaccination status. If we are that confident in the vaccine then you don’t have to quarantine. That is not currently policy. Currently the only thing that exempts you is having had a positive test within the last 90 days and have recovered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Break out your stitch gauges, spray on starch, kiwi shoe polish and your shirt garters!! Fun Fun!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think hardened is probably better than non hardened for threats. See Iraq base attack. Sure it probably won’t matter anyways but you know. It would look stupid if they targeted a bunch of soft buildings/trailers and left the hardened alone and you have a bunch of casualties in the soft facilities. Connex probably doesn’t count as hardened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
