How do you feel about your airframe and mission?
The RF issue is partly the dichotomy between intel collection and tactical employment - the processes/timelines for one don't always match with those for the other. Reach out to your intel patches for more integration.

Role of the military in a Civil War?
Interesting for sure. As a counterpoint, the Bill of Rights was originally opposed by many of the Founders - they believed that rights were inherent to citizens (natural law) and thought enumerating a bill of rights would restrict those which were not enumerated. In fact, US vs Cruickshank (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Cruikshank) ruled that the right to bear arms was independent of the Constitution.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
How so? SOF aviation is very good at certain mission sets by themselves, but some things require escort, SEAD, NKE, etc. integration

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Yep... that's the wing weapons officer's job. Unfortunately most wings have them in the OSS leading to the "I have eight bosses, Bob" syndrome.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Sorry, meant Striker Pathfinder... they wouldn't necessarily switch MDS. All the Striker programs seem to be taking the playbook from AMC (Phoenix?) programs as ThreeHoler implied.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
AFGSC is taking captain patches from multiple MDS after about a year in Tier 1 billets and sending them to Striker Vista - 2 years of career broadening, 1 year as exec/general's aide. Most likely followed by guaranteed school slot and staff, imagine coming back as a DO/CC after 6-7 years out of the jet.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Tell them to increase the hook/washout rate from Pensacola/UPT... should get rid of some of the attitudes/skill issues coming in the AF and give a better quality input to the FTU.

Back story? BTW as of October with the B-1 transition to Global Strike the Ellsworth MQ9s are now a tenant unit (moved under the 432 OG at Creech for ADCON)

CSO drop nights
It will be OK for the reservists (long timeline in their unit). Striker Vista guys are the shiny pennies though - when they get sent to command a B-1 squadron, will be interesting to see how much experience (credibility) they have.

Close Air Support
Yes, CAS with threats has been discussed/practiced. Depends if the CAS is attacking known targets, 45 minute NTISR orbits or CDE scans for 30 minutes waiting for strike approval won't even be feasible in a medium threat environment. Hard to support the ground commander's objectives when he doesn't even know them.

Drone Pilots: We Don’t Get No Respect
JTR Intro: a. When necessary, a Uniformed Service: (1) May supplement the JTR with administrative regulations (see pars. 1015 and 1020), but (2) May not prescribe allowances that differ in amount or type from those authorized by the JTR, unless specifically permitted. They can be more restrictive but not deny/change reimbursement.

Drone Pilots: We Don’t Get No Respect
The use of Govt quarters is a should not a will... if you go off base w/o a non-A your reimbursement is limited to the base lodging rate. It doesn't say you can be ordered to stay on base or you won't be reimbursed at all.

CSO drop nights
Are guys getting qualified in both nav/radar/EWO to become WSOs?
-
Promotion and PRF Information
Yep - pretty common to see the AFFMS printout go up along with an OPR/EPR; failures outside the reporting period are still discussed. In addition, FGOs and senior CGOs were briefed to not expect a DO/CC slot unless they were scoring above 90.

Yes, there is a host wing with folks PCSed there for the normal wing/group type jobs.

Reimbursement for bag lost during mil-air flight?
https://www.amc.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-130308-090.pdf page 96 talks about the baggage service center for AMC. Don't know if this would apply if you didn't go through a pax terminal but it might be worth a try. Also the JAG claims process (https://claims.jag.af.mil/) may be the way to go.

Air Force is Tired
You're correct. However the admin, inspections, and queep while you're home are not necessary. In addition, for the last 3-4 years before OIR, AFG CAS was severely hamstrung by ROE (resulting in thousands of hours of XCAS and creating a lot of wear on the jets). Neither parts nor maintainers were funded appropriately for the flying hours they were supporting.

Avoiding no-go ground test
Good luck. Had a Mormon pilot in the squadron who didn't take dex or anything with caffeine - he still flew 12+ hour combat sorties and no one gave him crap for it, so it is possible.

USAF Weapons School (WIC) info
And they tried to send a guy from up north a while ago... he didn't want to move and he told his SQ/CC "if they give me orders to the FTU, I'm getting out" SQ/CC tells OG/CC "If you give this guy FTU orders, he's getting out" AFPC gave him FTU orders. He got out. Another mark in the K12B losses column.

Didn't the Navy contract out their network to NMCI and end up with terrible service?

Should only be for PCSes - travel vouchers are reimbursements vs income so likely not taxable.
