I'll 2nd the Ruger SR22, which I got at a BX. Just be sure to use good ammo. Some 22LR I used wouldn't cycle it and caused FTF (Winchester Super X). I usually use Remington Golden Bullet, CCI AR Tactical, and CCI Stinger (when available) without issue. BX holiday sales usually cause my gun ownership to increase. Out

Gun Talk
I like the Shield, it feels good good, is easy to shoot/control, and accuracy is decent. However, I think they have a material problem with their recoil spring assembly. First, the end of the assembly that engages into the barrel is thin. Mine bent, like in this sample picture I found on the interwebs. Now, I think I bent mine during initial take down and reassemble, or it came that way from the factory as I hadn't shot it yet. The directions say to make sure the thing is perfectly centered on the barrel. Mine was probably off just enough to catch and bend. I called S&W and I said recoil spring assembly and they asked for my address. No issues since then, but I haven't done another take down yet either. Second, and I haven't had any issues with this one, but the spring is a flat ribbon and is not uniform. Some people don't like it. I haven't had any function issues. In summary, it was a great deal, 10% off at the local BX, and no function issues with about 300 rds of Blazer Brass 9mm. I haven't carried it yet, but that is the plan. I'd love it they doubled the thickness of the metal to prevent bending. Out

Leadership at the 'Deid
I was there in 2003. All was fine and dandy. 3x pint sized beers a day with decent selection, the wagon wheel before and after the storm that tore it up, but we didn't care, and we wore whatever was comfortable. The mission got on. Then Roche shows up. I overhear him ask, "so you guys don't wear a uniform 24/7?" Queue in knee-jerk reaction which institutes the PT-like clothing restrictions that seemed to change weekly as someone saw something that they didn't like. We hear anecdotal stories of ladies with suitcases full of shoes, supposedly for the wagonwheel fashion show, as why we need to change. It will save weight on rotators they say, but never mind the xx lbs of useless chem gear/army gear we haul every rote. "Leadership" was way too awesome making this change <--- sarcasm! My next 2 times there in 2004 was the civilian PT like clothing. I don't recall when official PT gear went into style, but I think we had to have it for my 2005 rote. And now we don't have to wear it. People can get 3x beers a day, but selection has seen better days. There is a Bra. And I think the mission is still getting on. Weird. Out

Are you supporting the pedophile in my make believe situation? If so, then their make believe lawsuit is thrown out since they were just added to the sex offender list in the make believe lawsuit I filed, all we all lived happily ever after. The End.

Financial Planning for a US default
Ooooh, can I try? 1. The military will be used to "invade" Texas. So, I'll stay away from any evil-government locations that will be used to subdue the population. Why do you think homeland got a billion rounds of ammo, target practice? 2. I have automatic motion sensing drones with a shotgun barrel attached that will sense enemies approaching and autolaunch and engage. They will know me and my family, but everyone else is a target. They'll be charged with a battery bank linked to solar power arrays. I have a reloading station in case of a large hoard. I'll keep adding drones until I get at least 50. And I'm installing well placed pop up gun turrets with that Bruce Willis gun mount. 3AM knife wielding sociopaths--dead! 2a. Those radio transmissions will be fake and cannot be trusted, so I'll stay on my "land" with its "mass of wood," but I don't have drywall. You see, I replaced the drywall with lead lined steel. And I installed a recirculated filtered air system to keep out the chems from overflying aircraft which will try to drug me and trick me into submission. Oh, and I have a moat with piranha around my "This Land." 3. Hah, all my like minded people are in my head and we agree. But I've adopted a bunch of little kids and trained them to defend me. I'm indestructible!

Privately Owned Drones
"Gee, officer, I thought that it was a pedophile operating that spying device looking in on my kids bathroom." But before the officer shows up, if the operator shows up first, a picture of them on my doorstep posted to social media calling them pedophiles trying to spy on my little kids gets posted. Need anymore justification? I could make up all sorts of justification. And I'll gladly roll those dice. Because nobody likes pedophiles. Out

EFMP (Exceptional Family Member Program)
Sadly, you like have to do your own homework. As for the specialist, it doesn't have to be MTF (military). Some EFMP specialty docs don't exist in the mil system. In my area, we have a good children's hospital and folks go there for their specialty care. If you find a local civilian specialist, and they accept Tricare, and you make EFMP aware they exist, and the doc has space, the local clinic has the final say and convincing them may be a challenge. Be ready to lead everyone by the nose and push past the frustrations. This was my experience and I eventually got out of that program knowing me and the wife could do it better on our own. I likely have Tricare EFMP PTSD. Good luck, Out

C-130 down in Indonesia (not US)
Weight likely was factor, but its quite likely the crew didn't have the skills and practice to handle an engine failure/prop malfunction at takeoff. Or calculate TOLD properly and tell 20 people to stay put in the off chance the have an engine problem. And if it was an underpowered E model.... Common issues with some other countries that fly Mighty Herc. Out
