  1. Air Force commanders reminded to "be involved in their subordinates personal live, but not TOO involved." So, instead of actual interactions to get to Chief Cody's standard of involvement, I guess we'll just force everyone to write a summary MFR of how their week went?
  2. Would they bother with an MEB for someone who already has a separation date?
  3. They should rename it to "The Aliens Channel"
  4. They should make it like flight pay. You have to pull x number of shifts in the hole per month to be eligible. You can even do gates. Then make missileer WG/CC, OG/CC, and SQ/CCs pull those alerts to retain the incentive pay, much like we do in the flying world. And just as folks who are long-term DNIF will lose their flight pay, we also take missileer pay away from folks who go long-term medical DQ from PRP.
  5. Letter in lieu of orders. I haven't had an issue so far.
  6. I've heard the conversation, but I've rarely seen commissioning source used as a discriminator for promotion or upgrade.
  7. There's at least one in my squadron that PC'd. I don't know if he had an ADSC or not. Major, 11B, evaluator, B-1s.
  8. Sure. Why would anyone want the more advanced cruise missile when you can lob the legacy ones?
  9. Because the B-1 isn't single-role the way you describe it. The ability to perform stand-off weapons, conventional munitions, dynamic targeting, naval mining, low altitude strikes, and yes, CAS, outweigh what the A-10 will be able to do on days 1-10 of a war with a near-peer
  10. But who will sort the Skittles by color before the general arrives?
  11. During our last wing change of command, our protocol officer was actually pretty useless and knew almost none of these things. Cut them some slack, they deactivated 9 bands last year:
  12. You're telling me. It's just on abbreviations...acronyms are still allowed. So I can write JDAM but I can't turn "target" into "tgt".
  13. I really want this to result in cutting shows, or maybe the program entirely. Unfortunately, what I see happening is an increase in funding so TIB can fly to every stop.
  14. I still haven't seen the push line, but I've already sank a good 20 hours into re-writing that thing to match the OG's ban on abbreviations.
  15. I already have had to write one just based on when the squadron's change-of-command falls. Our current SQ/CC wanted a chance to review them before he left.
  16. While I scoffed at it originally, it may be one more argument against TIB...look at how safety-conscious the AF is in all other aspects of the mission. Maybe TIB needs to start filling out ORM sheets before each performance, reviewed by the group commander to ensure risks are mitigated at the appropriate level. Wonder how long it would take to reduce the number of shows and therefore, the cost to the Air Force? Man, I'm sorry I missed that performance. For once, I bet their show actually did boost morale.
  17. The nuke folks could have it worse...they could have the brutal schedules that TIB has to deal with. http://www.airforcetimes.com/article/20140430/NEWS/304300047/Band-members-cite-lack-sleep-grueling-rehearsals
  18. You heard the man, time for a rash of cheating on the monthly boldface exams.
  19. "Rusty at force management"...How often do we need to do this to not forget the lessons learned? We just did this what, two years ago?
  20. We'll have to cancel another working aircraft to free up the funds, though...
  21. So...didn't these guys talk to the press under the guise of talking to their congressman? Where is the congressman in this current mess?
  22. Someone should ask that question at his base-wide talk.
  23. But where will those other one-stars park when they visit the base?
  24. I think it's stupid that I'm allowed to print out PII (like, say, a recall roster), and enter everyone's phone numbers into my personal cell phone from the paper...but I can't email the recall roster to my personal email address.
  25. Dyess has the highest MiCare utilization rate because they made it mandatory at roll-out and briefed the names of folks who hadn't enrolled to the WG/CC.
