I thought landing at the right airport, with your gear down, was the minimum standard? ORM should have stopped this flight. Two IPs in the same aircraft...horrible idea. Hate flying the family model, even worse when someone is in the back (minus incentive rides).

Lots of units use them for their 2 week summer camps (not just flying squadrons), Navy and Marines use them as well. Some units det out of them to help support SEALs/JTACs/etc... at the local range. Generally CRTCs have lots of airspace/ranges nearby which = more training per sortie. They also use them to quick turn or pit for more training as well. Lots of LEO (cops/swat/airport SRT) use them for various training exercises.

This is what I mean, why is there Reserve and Guard on the same base, basically doing the same mission? Kinda like having two squadrons of herks at MSP (1 ANG/1 RES). WTF? With how small the reserves are, why are we funding a complete and separate competent? Ex...we have an A staff for both AFRC and ANG...seems like lots of wasted $$$$.

Dynamic, Avenge, L3, and another one that flies O-2s. I'm not exactly sure what one he worked for, but I know he was paid very well for his services. But I do not agree that there is no difference between them and all our ISR assets. Show me where American companies are using civilians to fly fighters/bombers, so I can go apply. I would make a shit ton more $$$$ than I do in the military. Then I could keep buying guns to replace the ones I keep losing in the lake. It's not uncommon to have civilian test pilots, and/or civilians to be in charge of a major program. This is especially true in AFMC. Oh they will apply, because they will be paid generously (see civilian contractors I mentioned above...minus the O-2 company). Or they could contract out a lot of lift, as we do now, to Atlas/Omni/Evergreen/etc. Yup, stil a military person on title 10 pulling the trigger.

The place I was in had tons of 22LR ammo. Limit 5 bricks. I bought my limit...not sure why as I don't have a 22 anymore.

So I was checking out the list floating around Facbook that AF.mil released and noticed redacted lines. So I compared those items to the list on military times....sure enough all the lines that had an action taken of "turn over to SFS/JAG/OSI," were redacted in the AF.mil list...

Shooters can't be outsourced but just about anything else can. A guy in our squadron had a gig making 150+ flying a Kingair or Dash-8 around the AOR for a contractor.

So I'm assuming if he didn't get an excellent or a 100% on the closed book, he would give up his command? So, is a speeding ticket something you have to report to your CC? If so, this is the first I've heard of this.

This isn't the real world...it's the fake world of the IG. Kinda reminds me of a story from a Vietnam era book. The squadron had to do an ORI, in country, during the war and they failed. Guess who kept flying combat missions. One of the findings was the jets weren't painted IAW the reg (sharks teeth under the nose), the bosses response was "Noted."

Eh, pretty standard "teething" issues with a new aircraft. I wouldn't be too worried about. Never fly the A-model of anything.
