That’s why I said there’s someone standing where the guy in the cockpit can see who gives commands/approvals via hand signals (if not plugged in with comm cord). I’m not saying they should have done it (because it was against T.O.), but the act of manipulating moving aircraft components from the cockpit with MX personnel around is SOP everywhere in the CAF, and completely safe if proper procedures followed.

Beyond violation of TO procedures, voice comm isn’t required/a factor here. This is all avoided by guy in cockpit not touching anything until someone on ground gives him the thumbs up to do so (and that guy has 1. visually cleared the area surrounding moving parts and 2. Has signaled to others what’s about to happen so they don’t go into any “danger areas.”) So this is a major, double fuck up.

Good, we need less bureaucratic layers and the bureaucrats that come with them. Maybe it will also help reduce the constant desire to spread us all over the world doing all the things all the time.

@Lord Ratner I hear you and generally agree. But, I don’t consider Trump unserious. He’s very serious about many topics. His unserious trolling and other character flaws do not make his seriousness in many areas not exist. @17D_guy My point is they ALL are flawed, and in most cases, shitty people to varying degrees. Truly “good dudes” don’t run for office and don’t make it to the federal level (save a few outliers). Since basically no good core humans exist at the fed level, might as well put the emotion aside and look at plans, policies, voting records, results, etc. That’s the shit that affects us. The personality type stuff is for the reality TV-overloaded smooth brains who think purely emotionally and not logically.

Not if people prioritize policy, actions, results, etc. over a personality contest. That said, much of America is incapable of unemotional logic/critical thought, so yeah, probably wise to bet on the emotions winning out. Hopefully I’m wrong on that.

I can’t believe states get away with laws that blatantly violate the constitution. How has every single one not been eradicated by SCOTUS cases at this point; it’s insanity.

There was a time when actual assimilation was demanded. It would not work out well for an immigrant who didn’t fully assimilate. Fast forward to today when all the soft, ignorant people practically advocate for the exact opposite. Personally, I think there’s a balance between the Ellis Island heyday and current day. That balance is something like you don’t have to change your name, completely erase your heritage, forget your native language, etc. But, you must assimilate to western values and way of life, as well as abide by our laws. We also should not be bending over backwards to placate to what “you” came from. If you don’t like learning English and adapting to American society, then GTFO and go back to wherever you came from.

You see it at the local levels too. People may get into it for altruistic reasons, but it doesn’t take long for most to be captivated by the attention, the feeling of power, “being someone important,” etc. Phase 1 - I’m here to make good changes and clean this mess up! Phase 2 - I like this attention and power Phase 3 - Do what I can to enrich myself and close allies while pretending I’m “just a regular Joe like all of you [suckers]!”
