SOCOM, including AFSPECWAR, is playing an active and important part in EUCOM and PACOM, it just doesn’t look exactly the same as the last 20+ years in CENTCOM. It’s crazy I know about this as an outsider to AFSOC, but apparently leadership within AFSOC doesn’t know what their own people/immediate joint partners across SOCOM are doing today. How are they that clueless?

Generally we do not work for the sake of work/“punch a time card.” You’re there to get the job done, then go home (or hang out in the bar, gym, etc.) Nobody should be working long days unless that’s what is required to get the mission done.

I’ve taken “personal quality” out of the equation. They’re all shit, so it doesn’t matter. What are the policies (past and expected) and what are the outcomes (real or projected). Do they support general American principles or not? Thats what people should be voting based on. Voting for person X solely because it’s not person Y is fucking retarded. It appears that way. And the 28th is not the only squadron with them, they’re just the ones who have had the most recent, significant mishap. When I’m around the AD, it’s down right scary what is being allowed to occur in some squadrons. The “Gen Z mindset” combined with flaccid leadership who don’t hold them accountable (generalities, not everyone) will get expensive shit destroyed and people killed. And if you’re a Gen Z guy who isn’t like what you know I’m alluding to, then be a leader yourself and present a positive example for your counterparts to follow. Welcome to the CAF. 100% of F-35 sorties are not compliant with AFI (not allowed area nav, but that’s what you typically need to do or just do anyways). In reality it makes zero diff and there’s nothing wrong with it, but the certification process is so arduous it hasn’t been done. So ridiculous.

I would give it a shot. You’re on full time orders and really that’s their intent - capture people who are full time before they go part time/get out and are a free agent to their competitors. I would think the minutia of splitting hairs WRT type of T10/T32 orders is not something they care about.
