  1. Nope, no good roads/tracks, and tons of cops...sell your bike and get the car.
  2. I'm hitting up our school's career fair today to see what part-time jobs are available. These can be hit or miss, but worth a shot. Know who will be there, tailor a resume to their company, chat it up a bit, and you will probably be called in for an interview. If you don't want to go through the hassle, just hit up your local FBO and explain your situation....I'm sure they can find something for you to do.
  3. They tell you ~98% make it through after the waiver process, but I know a handful of people who have been DQ'd each year, so that can't be too accurate. I'd say 1 in 20 ends up getting the big DQ, but that is just a guess. From my Det, we've lost one person at Brooks each year for the past four years.
  4. Are there any lakes in the vicinity of Sheppard that would be good for wake boarding/inner-tubing? I'm contemplating buying a boat, but unless I can use it during UPT, I'll most likely wait a few years. If you know of any good spots, chime in and help a brother out!
  5. Him Him.....blue skies and tailwinds good sir.

    Gun Talk

Thanks for all the advice guys. After going to the range and testing out the guns in question, I ended up buying a Sig P226R .40cal. The S&W MP .40/XD-40 both shot great, the Sig just felt better IMO...all shot similar groupings. I tried the P229 but it was a tad-bit small for my liking...easier to carry, but the grip didn't fit my hand as well as the full-size P226R. I also filled out the necessary paperwork for a concealed pistol license and I can pick it up in 30 days. M2, regarding what you said about the process in Texas, I was surprised that I didn't have to attend a class. I just paid $60, they took my fingerprints, I filled out a one-sided sheet and that was it.

Thanks for the input...the XD looks like a solid platform....I'll check it out.

I'm going to buy my first handgun sometime this week and am torn between the USP .40, Sig P229 .40 and S&W MP .40 (slight favorite). All have received great reviews, and after shooting them, I'm swaying towards the S&W. I'd appreciate it if any of you could share your experience(s) with these pistols...or if you have any suggestions for other pistols you think I should look at, fire away! Thanks guys, check six!
  9. You should be good to go. I'm 6'3" 205lbs and I fit fine....my headset ends up being a ###### hair from the top of the canopy but it's not a big deal. I push the rudder pedals all the way back and I'm good to go. It was pretty funny when I took my 6'5" 230lb friend up last year before he left for Euro-Nato....I'm surprised we were able to take-off. Good luck and check six.
  10. Crazy shit right there.....I'll take one.
  11. 2006 Raven R6....I love it!
  12. Individuals with PPL's did poorly on a test and people think there must be bugs? Come on...
  13. Go for it buddy, obviously I'm not at UPT, but it was a blast doing instrument flying. Makes VFR GA flying seem like a joke...you don't want to go back (well, not always). Best of luck to you and if you have any questions about what it was like, etc., hit me up on PM.
  14. I don't think he was ever pronounced KIA (no body yet)...but who knows.
  15. Yes....probably more so than any other AFSC.
  16. I admire your desire to serve, but I think you might want to look for a job elsewhere. In order for all your paperwork to clear, it will pretty much take an act of God. Good luck to you.
  17. I think it f*cking sucks.....I earned a 99 PCSM after taking the BAT, and now they're clearing my score and making me take the TBAS....figures.
  18. Now THAT was f*cking hilarious....was the IP being especially nice to that stud for a reason? Wouldn't an American student have hooked that ride if he was equally as slow to react? I remember reading something about our IP's not being able to hook foreign students or something along those lines....any truth to this? [ 14. April 2006, 16:03: Message edited by: ENJJPTorBust ]
  19. Yup.....this sucks big time.
  20. That is the webpage linked directly off of the Randolph AETC website....which is pretty "legit".
  21. Most likely tied in somehow, but who knows. I agree with Panther regarding how they are handling this....pretty shitty for those of us who have taken it already.
  22. Uh....I sure hope this isn't correct. I am an AS200 with a 99 PCSM and would be f****** pissed if I lost that score. Care to post a link to the website with that info so I can run it by my cadre?
  23. Fasting.....um.....wouldn't recommend it. It's not going to help you. Regarding advice, get a good nights sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and other than that, everything is out of your control. If there is something wrong with you that would warrant a DQ, they WILL find it....no way around that. If you're borderline for vision, do a few exercises the night before that you can find online. Also give magic eye a shot if you're worried about the depth perception test. Best of luck to you.
